JV & Elvis VS. Opie & Anthony

I don't know if anyone heard it the other day, but 92.3 FreeFM had an argument between Opie & Anthony show (airing from 6am-9am), and the JV & Elvis show (airing from 9am-1pm).

O&A do 92.3 until 9am, then they go over to satellite radio, and JV and Elvis take it from there. The other morning, O&A went long to 9:30, and JV and Elvis took issue with it on their show, but really complaining about management letting them do it, not actually against O&A.

O&A called into the show and they had a two-part fight over the course of half an hour.

You can hear part of the clip here:

I give a lot of credit (and am very biased towards) JV and Elvis for standing up to the high schoolish antics. JV & Elvis have been pooped on by the station for some time now.

    O & A

I heard the O and A side of it on satellite radio in the morning-this started actually on Thursday--it was interesting to hear the unedited part of the fight.

So how long until JV and Elvis are off 92.3 because CBS paid too much to get O&A. If JV and Elvis were more important to CBS than O&A then they wouldn't have let O&A go long.

I would say JV & Elvis gained listeners thanks to following O&A.

CBS comaplins a lot about JV and Elvis' ratings, but I really think it's unfair.

They say that ratings go down 50% when JV and Elvis come on, but that's because a lot of the O&A listeners then tune to the satellite to keep listening to them, and because at 9am, the morning commute ends and companies turn on music, not talk radio. It should be expected.

Also notice how 92.3 advertises for O&A and The Radio Chick (evening commute) on buses and stuff, but they've yet to advertise for the JV and Elvis show. Why don't they help them out at all?

OnA has had a hard time finding advertising as well. They've been around a long time and are finally getting some promotion, both thru CBS and XM. I've been a fan a long time but they're just what I grew up with. All I know is OnA are BANKIN!

O&A are nothing like they used to be on 102.7. Maybe it's because I've grown up (albeit a little ;)) or maybe it's because they've had to tone a lot of it down after they were kicked off the air for the second time, but their stuff just isn't as funny as it used to be.

I like JV and Elvis better, because they don't just do stupid stuff, but they also hold more serious arguments etc...

Agreed. O&A just do a lot of angry stuff these days. They jsut pick a target nad let Jim Norton spit out his standards "You stupid______(fill in blank)____!"

I think it is the morning slot. They were great on the evening drive. Guess they were better when they drank in studio.

Very true! I still get a blast out of the show, I even went to the traveling virus. And yes, Jim Norton on the show is not the same Jim that does standup. I urge everyone to go to youtube and watch his latest Leno appearance. If you don't think that's funny then I'm not sure we can be friends. LOL
