Hey guys, yesterday my Dad suprised me with a spot on the B-17G "Yankee Lady" @ Teterboro... I am still smiling from that experience, while my ears are still ringing... I can honestly say those 35 minutes were the most amazing experience of my entire life so far, and i will remember every detail till my last day... I have a new found respect for all of the airmen back there... because it really takes being in thier shoes ( if just for a few minutes) up in the air to see what they had to endure and one can only imagine the challenges and fears they felt while up there over axis territory... a very big thank you goes out to the Yankee Air Force for their preservation and filying of the Yankee Lady...

You know I couldn't stay away...headed over to FRG this afternoon to see "Aluminum Overcast". Ran into a museum voluntgeer who's retired from TWA and worked with my father, and ended up spending close to half an hour talking with him.

Here are a few shots of the B-17:

Here's a look at both ends of the ball turret:

Here's the T-45 that was in this weekend:

Part of the museum tour is a trip over to the old tower in the next hangar, which gave me a nice overview of the museum and the B-17

Still not much of a crowd. Spoke with another museum volunteer who told me the EAA said they would take care of publicity, obviously somebody there dropped the ball. The museum is publicizing the Labor Day weekend show...see you there!

The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

Hey, I was in Manhattanyesterday with guests and saw a B-17 doing aerial photo shots over the Statue of Liberty. Was that the B17 at Teterboro or FRG?
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Most likely the one from Teteboro - it looked like after takeoff, they headed over toward NYC for their rides.
