About time that Jetblue is pumping some research money into the Airbus...

What surprised me is that at times, the A320 has problems making it from the West Coast to the East Coast without a tech-stop....

Kind of funny, Airbus makes it look like it was their idea, they were pushed into studying winglets by their customers.....

When Jetblue first approached Airbus about the range problem, Airbus added the center fuel tank, which did not help, so Jetblue spoke to Airbus about improved winglets, at first Airbus was not receptive to the idea, so Jetblue looked elsewhere......

I think the real reason that JetBlue ultimately went with A320s is so that they could not be bought out by the 737-dominated Southwest.

Pricing was one reason why Jetblue went with Airbus, the 2nd reason was the delivery schedule, Airbus was able to provide the Airbus according to Jetblue's timetable....

did you see how mwny B6 flights have had to make stops in the last 2 weeks, there have been 170 mph headwinds heading west flights to Vegas were even stoping, but flights back were only 3 1/2 hrs... the 320 doesn't have true trans-con range like a 757

Here is it....pretty awkward in my opinion: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1054589/L/

Doesn't even compare to the Boeing Blended Winglets.

Looks almost like an HF antenna, wonder if it's something temporary for delivery from Europe?

looks like the sensory packet that is used during flight testing...
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Matt hit the nail on the head that's exactly what that is. If the picture didn't crop it out you'd see the pack.

It's not the normal sensor pack that you see where it's a flexible wire with a sensor on the end as shown here:

This one seems to be straight and hard, here's a better shot showing it. Maybe they just left off the flexible wire/sensor attachment for this flight?
