can't wait to see it fly!! boeing never fails in taking an already great looking airplane and making it look even better!! i wanna see raked wingtips on a CMF-equipped 707 though! (and a 757 while they're at it...)
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
Those 737s will look good, but I remember reading there were still some advantages to the Electras (Orions), but no *perfectly* suitable aircraft available.
Also had read someplace else, UK was offering part of their upgraded Nimrod fleet - probably would've been cheaper by some measure, and they're already mission adapted, but I guess the 737s are coming on-line now, so thats that.

The P-8A Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA) is a long-range anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance aircraft. It possesses an advanced mission system for maximum interoperability in battle space. Capable of broad-area, maritime, and littoral operations, the P-8A MMA is expected to influence how the U.S. Navy's maritime patrol and reconnaissance forces train, operate, and deploy.

I know a P-3 instructor pilot based in Maine, I will have to find out if he is involved with this.
Overheard on JFK TOWER - S Turns are fine, U-Turns are bad....
I used to be a mechanic on the P-3, I am amazed that a 737 can replace the P-3. Somebody at Boeing spoke with me about it and how the 737 can do the job, and I was sold.....Originally Posted by Ari707
