JFK the old Idlewild golf course

Well, the only Idlewild I know is a bar i NYC. Remember that Phil?

I was reading about how JFK was initially a golf course.
My only question is this. Was the entire place graded down and leveled?

I usually think of a golf course as hilly and contoured and varying. Of course, a major airport is usually relatively flat. So any history on the old Idlewild?
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Here is a newsday story about it. It sounds like it was more marsh than golf course.
