Near Miss photo from UK (link BBC website)
This has appeared on BBC website, it does look close but I am sure its not really !!!

hmm considering the JAL plane is a 773ER and the DHL appears to be an A300F, they're pretty far apart because the 773ER is significantly longer than an A300 side-by-side...
telephoto compression can make things seem a lot closer than they are.
also, patterns like these are common practice in London's busy airspace...i've experienced it firsthand...

Hmmm.. I don't know about any "near miss" but I would not have guessed they were "2 and a half miles" apart either. :)
I guess we've all seen the parallel landings or pictures of such at certain airports.

Wow, that's a one in a million shot (the one posted by Phil, that is). I have never seen anything like that in real life.
