I received confirmation from the PANYNJ that this years Kiwanis Kids Day at LGA will be held on Sat. September 20th.
Would anyone happen to know the Point of Contact for the event?
I'm wondering if they've requested military static displays for the event through the US Aerial Events Support request form. Sequester put a "kabash" on this last year, but since then the rules have been relaxed somewhat and they may be able to get approval to solicit static displays. If so, I'd like to try and get a KC-10 in there again.
The feedback from the last Kids Day with a KC-10 was very positive.
Thanks!
Can't wait. Best day of the year. Wish the KC-10 would return since the Sequester has been eased. Hope the Geico Skytypers will return after last years' absence. Misplaced my poster they gave.
Looking forward to it! This is an awesome event for kids (young and old). Thanks for sharing.
Here are a few shots from last year.

FYI - Found this flyer about the LGA Kids Day posted online also, but I doubt there will be any military aircraft this year. I'm sure there will be more info posted here soon about what aircraft we can expect to see and it will be a fun day at LGA as usual ! :cool:https://scontent-a-lga.xx.fbcdn.net/...87532699_o.jpg
Love this at LGA but many spotters will be busy looking for UN GA visiting aircraft on Sat.
I know many of you will be at JFK for UN week but will post tonight a list of expected aircraft for Kids Day with hopefully a very nice SURPRISE Special Visitor from American Airlines again update tonight please check back. I hope to see some of you tomorrow.
Cheers

I will be there with my kids, weather looks like it should be a nice day!
Just confirmed with the Port Authority - I'll be flying an R44 helicopter in for tomorrow. I originally planned on bringing an AS350, but the company's aircraft are all contracted for 135 charters tomorrow. See you all tomorrow, it should be a really fun day!
Thanks for the info Helidriver and welcome to the NYCA Boards.
Also, I was talking to one the guys over at the American Airpower Museum this evening
and he said they are planning on flying their C-47 to LGA for Kids Day tomorrow also.
Some expected/confirmed aircraft for Kids Day 2014. Sadly all Military aircraft have had to back out. Combination of needs for official duties and the unfortunate timing of the Huge Oceania airshow in the Norfolk, Virginia Beach area being held the same day. Runway 4-22 will be closed and based on the forecasted winds LGA should be up down 13 with approaches using the extremely cool ILS 22 circle to land 13 approach allowing for some excellent photo ops from the event with the very sharp banks on very short finals to land on 13.
I am hearing between 10-15 General Aviation aircraft.
Unknown DL aircraft (in the past usually an A-319)
US Airways A-319 N712US (Regular current US scheme)
American Eagle/Envoy CRJ-700 in new scheme (like last year)
And for me and I hope some of you the Airline star of Kids Day 2014 drumroll please
N185AN First and only American 757 in the new scheme and is in the International Configuration.
(only been in service in this scheme since Sept 6)
I realize the UN General Assembly is an understandable priority for many of you but I still hope to see some of at LGA.
Cheers

I'll be there, probably shortly after 2pm.
Phil - it was great seeing you there!
Had a great time there, my kids favorite parts were the American Eagle because they had the a/c pumping inside and we just sat and rested in first class for a good 15 minute. and Delta because they were giving out goody bags with snacks.
Do the planes go through security checks after, since there is no security going in to kids day, and its not that hard to see where the planes are going next, it wouldn't be that hard to leave something in a sea tback pocket or someplace like that for someone on the next flight?
I'm sure they go through some sort of sweep prior to being returned to 121 service.
Thanks to everyone who came this year, it was a great day! I hope those of you who had a chance to check out the helicopter enjoyed it. Sorry it had to depart early, as something came up last-minute. Still, the other pilot kindly flew it back for me, so I was able to enjoy the entire event.
I'm working on bringing another helicopter to EWR for Newark Airport Day in two weeks (Saturday, Oct. 4th). Does anyone know if the EWR PANYNJ people encourage aircraft to fly in?
Great seeing you folks! wish I gott o hang out more. Was great to see tons of people and aircraft.
And yes, even without the event, aircraft go through security checks regularly before flights. :)
It was a fun day despite cutbacks from previous years. Saw Phil by the Delta A319. The kids loved being photographed sitting in the captains' seat. We boarded American B752, N185AN, which was later ferried over to JFK and later departed for MAN. Very cordial crew giving us coloring books, crayons, luggage tags, beverages, etc. Also in attendance, was US Airways N712US,an A319; this instead of the usual "Smiley Jack" PSA aircraft. Delta had an A319 also, N301NB, although the crew aboard was not very cordial. Everything went smoothly and LGA was up and down on Rwy 13, but didn't notice any special UN GA aircraft or any special liveries.
Great seeing friends old and new at the event! And was nice to meet Phil there.
No pictures?
