Original story had them and 2 F-16s staying at FRG. Maybe the security and facilities were better there.
Saw a video on the "FRG Notable Visitors" thread of 14 Army helicopters flying over the Hudson and heading into NJ yesterday. They are staying at Caldwell in NJ and doing the Fly Over Sunday night!!
I was in North Bergen, NJ 2 days ago shooting trains and saw loads of Blackhawks going back-and for the between the Stadium and some eastern location. Also saw a few of the gold chatline on black paint Blackhawks as well. This was going on constantly - hovering in the air and maneuvers etc in groups of 2 or 3.

They are supposed to have a gaggle of helicopters of various types - 12 to 14 Blackhawks, Apaches, and one or two others - performing the flyover following the National Anthem. That may be what you saw flying near the stadium the past couple of days, Senga.
CNN has been showing a clip of a reporter on TV talking to one of the black/gold stripe helicopter pilots and going up for a ride, and they show the practice flyover from the air, but I can't find that particular video on their site?
Here's a cool video I found of the 13-ship practice flyover from parking lot at Metlife Stadium:cool:

Wow, so cool and must be LOUD!!! Must have freaked out residents of NJ who had no idea what was going on!! Bet 911 got a few calls.
The gold/black Blackhawks are the Custom/Border Patrol aircraft that along with the F-16s are tasked with aerial security for the event!! NJSPD and NYPD Aviation probably in the mix there!! I know the last few days in Manhattan I've seen the NYPD 412s including their Command & Control copter flying all around Manhattan.
FOX really didnt show much of the FlyOver!! Being dark out didnt help!! Hoepfully there is video somewhere!!
CBP helos Omaha 6 and 11 just flew past my house, minutes apart, following LIE into ISP.
Does N770BA 747-87UF ever come to JFK?
FOX did a terrible job shooting the flyover. :frown:
Here's a video link of flyover as seen from one of the 101st CAB helicopters above Metlife Stadium:cool:

Hope so because they did a great job with the new SEAHAWKS livery on it

This may have been posted already, but here's a link to one of the airplane's flights on Flight Aware:

That's exactly why FOX should've used an aerial shot of the flyover from the Bud Light Helicopter cam just like they did with the halftime fireworks. FYI- Newsday posted a nice aerial shot of the flyover from above in the paper today, and I'm sure it's posted on their website also
Yes, they cut away too quickly and when they did they've should've went to an aerial shot like this one:

They did however get a nice shot of the F-14 Tomcat on the deck of the USS Hornet during the pregame reading of the Declaration of Independence:cool:
So silhouettes against the lights of the stadium would have been better? Really, flyovers at night, unless it's a burner pass, are really pretty much worthless.
No, my point is that FOX's flyover coverage was disappointing and they could've done a MUCH better job that's all !!
I mean even these amateur videos below captured the LOW flyover better than the "pros" at FOX did !

Great finds Chris!! Suckers flew pretty low!! Must have been cool sitting on the other side with them coming at you!! Noticed they only flew 9 aircraft while in the practices there were up to 14.
1st video is great...
Senga, I would love seeing some of your rail stuff. Any stuff to see online?
It must have been. Am I the only person to notice that during the anthem and flyover ,Peyton Manning was definitely looking up at the choppers.
First time I saw that 747, GREAT livery!
Yep, real low. So low I think it affected Mannings game ;)
Hi Mario,
Oh yes that right you are a Train Buff too :)
I do have my shots on a few uploading sites but mainly they are on my Flicker page. I do need to rescan many of the older shots.
