ill be there!!
Yay! I will soooo be there. I may even bring my kids
Thank God there's no conflict with the Newark collectible show this year
I may join you guys again this year!
Will attend . Now, for the big question will AAL send an aircraft with their new logo or the traditional livery? Our old friend Smiley Jack will probably return courtesy of US Airways. My favorite day of the year The summer went so fast !
Does anybody know the telephone for the LGA ATIS? I was at the US Open yesterday and departures off Rwy 22 kept passing overhead all-day. A spotter's dream but now I have a stiff neck. Love those West Jets, Frontiers, and SWAs.
The event opens to the public at noon right ?
normally i believe its somewhere between 1130- noon
I arrived a little before noon last year and the line to get in was pretty long though it moved fairly quickly. I'd recommend getting there early. If you have an interest in touring any of the static display aircraft, do that first as the lines get long quick and they only allow a few people in at a time. Touring 1 aircraft mid-afternoon can easily kill a couple of hours.
i plan to get there early
Was just wondering if anyone has heard any updates since it's only a week away
Is there anything specific that you'd like an update on?
From what my sources are telling me no Military at all this year, not sure about DL but I presume they will have an aircraft, US tentatively the usual PSA A-319 N742PS and due to lack of military AA will have two, I presume either two 738's or a 738 and MD80. The last two years the general aviation attendence keeps growing so that is likely. And with the UN General Assembly you never know what might surprise us would't be the first time.
Cheers

Can't wait to see Smiley Jack (Retro Livery) N742PS. He's been seen this week flying between DCA and LGA. Am hoping for an AAL 738 with the new livery but from my recent visits to both LGA and to JFK, we will see the old livery. Don't forget to visit the Marine Air Terminal interior; it is quite impressive. A mini-museum of aviation in itself. Photographers welcome. Hoping UAL participates and those great Geico Skytypers.
BTW, has anyone heard if the American Airpower Museum or the Geico Skytypers will be sending any of their aircraft this weekend ? Also, does the Kiwanis Club or LaGuardia Airport have an official link or flyer for the event ? A couple of friends are interested in taking their kids on Saturday and I wanted to send a link to them about it.
Weather looks promising. Wish for a SWA B737 or a UAL B737, but I doubt it. It doesn't hurt to dream!
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. I'm bringing my kid, but we all know who the day is really for...
I heard from the American Airpower Museum and they should be bringing their B-25 Bomber to LGA tomorrow:cool:
Thats cool. It would also be nice to see the C-47 there as well... See everyone there tomorrow!!
Thanks to MLDoc who reminded about this event. I have never been before, but my Mother and I may show up for the first hour or so. BTW, my mom says I'm cool (Milhouse quote---The Simpsons). Hope to see you avgeeks there!
Wouldn't be expecting the C47.
US Airways PSA "Smiley Jack" still up at Logan as of 5 AM this morning; hoping she ferries back to LGA in time. Weather looks promising. Any word about the Skytypers? Can't rely on Flight Aware. While the PSA A319 was listed as being up at Logan, she was in reality here at LGA.
Well it was nice seeing many there today!! Im gonna start with some shot I just edited

Very nice, Sergio!
Very nice!
Stunning shots especially the detail on the CRJ-700 tail and the SWA turning into Rwy 13 arrival.
I was surprised to see that the new AA tail colors and eagle logo on the CRJ are decals and not painted on. That livery is one that needs to be viewed up close to truly appreciate it. Eric captured it well with his detail shot. I still have to process mine from Kids Day.
More of mine to add in!!

Nice shots Sergio. That banking JB is sick!
No mention of the Trump B757 nearby. Evidently, he stores it at LGA. Its last listed flight was a while ago from DCA. Curious if the Kids' Day Area is used as parking for autos or to store aircraft the rest of the year. Anybody know? Also noticed during the bus ride, the stump of the old Control Tower jutting out from Terminal B (CTA); looks weird without the rest of the old Tower. Why wasn't the whole building removed?
That area is usually overnight parking for Delta & American who have more overnight aircraft than gates. This way they can depart the first bank of flights, and get the second bank ready while the "third" bank of flights is still in the air inbound to LGA.
