Nice coverage Eric and Jason.
Great coverage guys, she looks good with them. Do you know if she slipped in under cover of darkness AS-IS or was it retrofitted in-house at JFK? There are a couple of pics of it at SJU with the old wing fences on it and no name...
Anyone have any inside knowledge on this?
I know I was there to see some Sharklets, but you can only photograph them so much until you want to shoot some other stuff.

Very nice shots Eric!
Nice!!!
Full write up and shots here- http://www.airlinereporter.com/2013/...-fuel-savings/
Neat little event. This a/c will be on a sort of proving test for the next few days, doing JFK-SFO. Hope to see it in some good light soon. Oh, and in the air.
I still dont find the sharklets attractive, minds me of looking at both Embrarer Ejets and 737Ws.
SOOOOO UGLY!!!!
I quite like them. I think the 320's look much better with the sharklets rather than the fences.
I always wondered why Airbus never put full winglets on its A320 family, surely the wingtip fences were not as effective. But now that they're on there they're ugly as hell lol
It's not about the look .... It's about the benefits
Shots are really great guys. Winglets look good on any aircraft, except for those really small ones on some biz jets.
Not if you are the JetBlue CFO:
“I’m excited,” said Mark Powers, JetBlue Chief Financial Officer. “But I’m not excited that when the plane flies to San Francisco, its going to save us $568.75. No, no, I’m not excited about that. Nor am I excited about the fact that this airplane will save, conservatively, $350,000 a year. Nah, that doesn’t excite me either. And actually, once the whole fleet is retro fitted, were going to save $45 million a year, but that doesn’t excite me either. What really excites me, this airplane looks really cool. Winglets complete this aircraft.”
what next, A310, A300, and A380s with sharklets?
I love the sharklets, but they have their downside. They make the plane three feet wider on each side. There are some cities in the JetBlue network that will have to get very creative with their gate space to accommodate the A320's now.
