Thanks Fred... just E-mailed...
Hi Fred,
I'll be sending out an email shortly. I applied last year, and got a call that a slot was available, but unfortunately I couldn't make it because of pipe work on the main sewage drain. I'm looking forward to this event.
Thanks,
Mark
I'd love to...not sure I can afford it though :-/
I would love to, but loads generally suck in May.
Just to let anyone who hasn't submitted for this yet...this is truly an amazing experience. The airport, even while open and operating, is so quiet and still that it really seems as you're one with the ships you're photographing and you can feel the history and experiences each bird has gone through. You'll find no other spotting opportunity like this for sure.
Email sent and hoping for the best. Thanks Fred!
Im going to hold of a little before i submit. I need to figure out what to send in and make a thread for it here. Otherwise ill have to use my host and about 500 pics will be reviwed lol
I will only look at about the first three tho
It is almost time, if you do not have your entry photos in....better Hurry as the deadline is approaching!

Fred, how can I find out if my submission was accepted or even if someone found my submission/ :-) I submitted back when it was announced but received no confirmation yet.
Thanks
Sorry about that Manny, I did send out a batch or notifications today, you should have just received it. I am supprised there were soo little entry's by NYCA this year. It will be a full event this year again but I need to wait until May 1st before the review process starts and the selections are made. All emails should be sent by the 5th of May.
Wow time flies - just under 1 day left to get your submissions in. For those who haven't taken part in a prior year, I highly recommend it.
With all the participating aircraft announced in the "Jones Beach Airshow 2011" thread, it's going to be an awesome opportunity.
Isaac
I was combing the message boards looking for this thread last month and didn't see it. I thought the event this year might have been canceled.
Since I missed the deadline for this year, I wanted to thank derf for allowing me to come out in past years, and I hope all those who join the event this year enjoy it as much as I have in the past.
And derf, if a slot opens, I'd love to be considered as a late entry.

Fred, let's just say I don't always trust my SPAM filters, did notifications go out? Is not getting a response mean I was not selected? :-). Thank you sir!
Too late to sign up?
They were sent out just before 7pm... I really am not suppose to say anything but....
you made it
Yes, the Deadline was the 1st and all late entry's will not be able to attend. Over the next 2 weeks I will get at least 2 dozen email with requests. I tried to accommodate in the past but it is just not possible as space is limited. The one year I did do it it was around 25 people and it was too much for the AAM volunteers and we were on top of each other and it was too crowded.
Any person dropping out will get us closer to our goal of 12... yes, I did go over a bit but please do not tell on me.
Check your PM's, I did not have your email handy as you sent your entry as a PM - Fred
Hey Fred, thanks for looking at my email even though it might of been past the deadline. For the past 2 years I have attended the night shoot and had a blast. Hope to attend next years event.
Hope to see some members during the airshow weekend since I will be doing some shooting.
I hope the Grumman employee event doesn't overlap with your night photo op.
This years event was truely OUTSTANDING! Great access, great planes and Great People. Fred Thank you so much for organizing this special event.
Here is a quick one to start

Thank You all for making the night a success once again. I am sorry that we were not able to take pictures of Pauls T-6 running due to technical issues.

I echo Isaac's comments! It was a fantastic event to meet fantastic individuals who have the same passion for planes and photography. Thanks for coordinating all of this Fred.......well done!
I only received one email with submission photos for the auto entry for next year. If it is possible to send your submission by 8/1/11 as I will announce who had the best photos soon and like the winners last year (I am not judging the photos), I will make every opportunity to make night ramp access available when possible for special events (including Labor Day weekend). The one person who sent in the photos without being asked (Zee) will be given the opportunity to shoot if possible on Labor day Weekend and other days where unique aircraft may be visiting). Thank You Zee
I'll send a few over soon, Fred.
Thank you Fred and your welcome.
I'll send a few over when I return from Jersey. Sorry man!
Fred, apologies for the brain fahrt :-( I just sent my selection... feel free to ask for larger sizes if needed :-)
Cheers!
I would not have sent them in unless reminded so I understand. -no worries
Have then to you by Thursday, sorry.
I just emailed mine Fred, sorry I hadn't submitted them earlier.
Thanks
Isaac
