Hey guys heres a few from yesterday in a chilly ANC. Took Tad(Sporky) up with me. The light is GREAT!!! up there right now.
I love runway 7R at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport! Feels like a European Airport with how close you are to the runway! Happy it just re-opened in the last few weeks!

And NoGreenBox I shoot for the nose after I get the full body. It is hard to get the full body side on with the 100-400 so I try to go for the detail of the nose ;)
Nice shots - and I like that I'm seeing a big improvement in quality over the past 6 months in your stuff. Glad you guys got great weather...hope I can make it up sometime in the good stuff!

holy clarity batman! those shots are outstanding!!! I absolutely love the scenery up in ANC...I've always wanted to go shoot up there.

Yeah, it looks like we need a group trip LOL. I have to get up there. Love the variety and frequency ... and also the lack of commuter/regional jets LOL.
There are a couple up there with PenAir and Era but yeah, hardly any.
not that there is anything wrong with regionals hahaha. But they make you need a 600mm lens to fill the frame. Jumbos are so much better for our budgets.

Polar always looked lovely. I miss them down here in NY. Well good thing is I could catch an EIA up to ANc whenever I want since we fly there. What is the range you have going there guys? Also a spotting location. I want to get my facts straight for when I go up.
At most I was probably shooting at 250mm, but was using my 80-400 lens. As for locations, there are a few. This link provides some really good detail.

We were mostly shooting the morning arrivals at the South Airpark and afternoon departures down the West Access Road.

Hmm thanks alot this will be a big help. That observation deck. You have to go through security to get to? If so does that mean you need to be traveling? Also one update for your carrier list to ANC, Evergreen 747-200F, BCF, 747-400FQuote:
