That is Cathay Pacific'ed out right there.
This is not that original. But it's still much better than the fake NW scheme they had when they chartered some old NW 747-200 for the Haj flight.

Very Very disappointing that they went with that. It would have been nice to see a 777 in the "old" colors.
Senga
Ditto that Senga. BTW Current Avatar pic is my favorite among favorite airplanes/color schemes to ever grace the sky.
Prefer the old scheme. As Senga wrote, it would've been killer on a 777.
But, at least there are not many green colors at JFK apart from Aer Lingus, so (it will be) something new to shoot.
Tom
I have to add my nerdy input here as well, and my review is brutal! :D
Their 747 NW hybrid was as cool as they come, IMO. Biman's old crane logo was timeless. Old Livery nice, airline name Biman had an aura of importance to it, certainly better than just "bangladesh"
New crane logo: GARBAGE (in caps) and the new scheme overall, well I guess it could be worse. Only good feature as Tom said is the green color.
Logo, what is that? the Wu Tan Clan?? and toothpaste green is a terrible combination, good job
Wasn't this designed by someone on the modified airline photo site?
Yes that is true Tom,
The question is how long can we use the excuse "something new".eventually enough is enough.
MARIO?..What is Wu Tang Clan?
I think the USA wore its colors very well on the 727 as well. I love those old USA colors- very classy.

As George Harrison once wrote...
Bangladesh Bangladesh
Such a Great Disaster I just don't understand
But it sure looks like a mess
I've never seen such distress
Tom
was that an actual song Tom??
Senga, you got the spelling correct on Tan(G) lol you must know who they are then... rap group from the early 90's. Don't recall any of their songs now, but I think they're from NY and their front man was the infamous "Ol' Dirty Bastard" lol...
and while the USAir colors are acceptable, I much preferred the metallic/red/burgundy Allegheny paintscheme. Gotta keep it real I'm an old school 'fooh"
Mario - Yes, it was a real song.. A big benefit concert (maybe the first of its kind) was held at MSG to raise money for famine relief.
Wu Tang Clan? From Staten Island... line up kept changing I think...
Here's a sample for Senga...
Tom
Biman Bangladesh Biman Bangladesh
What a great disaster I just don't understand
Your logo now looks like the Wu Tang Clan's
What a mess, what a mess
I've heard of that event, but wasn't around yet when it happened. Hope the hippie fashion never comes back
I got it wrong, Ol Dirty wasn't the 'frontman' but one of the founding members. Here's the original "yo Imma let you finish" @the Grammys
b2-5GSjZvW8
(tried to embed the video but didn't work) ?
I'm more partial to this song personally. 8)
Tom,
That stuff is HORRIBLE My ears bleed ....why do you do this!
Mario,
My brain automatically assumed it was Woo Tang Clan-you know that the grammer/Chinese flair name.
I remember now- one of our local Aviophotgs who works on Rikers Island Dealt with a member if that group.....he said he was certified INSANE.
This is a little more geared to my tastes :)
Susumu Hirasawa...he is God

Their first 777-200 (ex 9V-SVA), which is actually registered to Euro Atlantic, is due to ferry from SIN to LIS today and then operate scheduled flights to LHR in a few days. No further word has come out on their planned return to JFK.
Supposedly they were supposed to start at JFK with it in late December but that never materialized.
Senga
You never materialize Senga. Your like spotter phantom. Now if we are talking about the 777 I agree.
OOps,
Sorry about that. I see what you were referring to now Ryan. I edited it.
Senga
:borat:
Doesn't seem that their 777s have been delivered yet. Not sure if they're still going to get them.Quote:

Wow so they went right for the full colors instead of the Euroatlantic Livery. That livery looks pretty bad.
Senga
Not surprising. I believe Biman and Euroatlantic have a very similar agreement to that of Arik Air and HiFly. Euroatlantic is just acting as the lessor company.Quote:

The insane one had to be ODB (he died from a drug overdose). I did like this one from him back in the mid 90's lol
Here's good NY hip hop from back in the days:
Radc2p-3 ... re=related
their hit from '92 FiOcVWQY2bc
After the 90's, hip hop became a total disaster. It also becomes America's official music (proof my opinion must be totally wrong). Either way, it hasn't registered on my radar since.
Now this is more like it:
Oh yes the topic is Biman's new colors..
Cathay Pacific One World eurowhite/meets Wu Tang Clan sums up that 777 to me
First painted aircraft should have been an A310 in Miami -could be inside a hangar- but apparently none of my spotter-informants have seen yet so i don't know
ps: it just stroke me had this been Airliners.net half of these posts would've been deleted already by the forum police (with a collective sense of humor of approx. negative 50). Along with the deletion email i would've gotten a 5-page long reminder of the TOS
Not too bad on this pic, I actually like it. Possibly more than its Cathay Pacific lookalike. Maybe it's the angle or simply that a long white 738 just looks bad
http://www.skyliner-aviation.de/photos/CSTFM.jpg
A310 is already painted at Miami now
why you guys are saying bad things about it?
hey thats our national airline and we're proud of the new colors and its modernization. :borat:
NO OFFENSE! but it looks really gorgeous. isn't? if you see it differently don't look at
I've made a mistake in my early responses, the aircraft is actually ex-9V-SRA. 9V-SVA is now sitting in Victorville.
CS-TFM is due to make its maiden voyage to Heathrow today so keep an eye out for photos.
please share some pix with us here! thanx!
Biman has applied before the DOT to ammend its existing authorization to fly to the United States; the ammendment consists in the following:
Biman's previous authorizations covered the routes DAC-DEL-DXB-AMS-NYC and DAC-DEL-DXB-BRU-NYC.Quote:
Biman will initially operate two weekly flights on the following route, and intends to increase the frequency to three flights weekly:
(a) DAC-MAN-NYC (Dhaka-Manchester-New York City) & V.V.
Biman will operate both flights to New York with B777 aircraft exclusively pursuant to a "wet lease" with EuroAtlantic.
I didn't find a start-up date in the extensive document, which by the way is available here:
http://www.regulations.gov/search/Regs/ ... 6480a920a2
So, later on in the year you'll have the chance to spot the 777 at least twice a week.
Best regards.
Just saw this about the new livery: http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesign/n ... nid=132313
ya saw that it is so sad.
The new logo is terrible anyways. I can tell getting rid of the word Biman and putting "bangladesh" was done by a foreign brand agency and clueless designer. The 777 looks fine but the 737-800 looks rather crappy in the new scheme.
I wish they made the old livery a little bolder though. Good that they're going back to the old logo.
You do not know how much this pleases me. Looks like BBC came to their senses and reverted back to the true representation of BBC and Bangladesh. The old colors is like flying cultural icon much more so than that horror the new livery is.
FaisalNahian,
If I do recall when we just learned about the new livery you seemed to be disappointed with how people on the site responded to the new colors. I think many feel the old colors is very classy and represents very well for BBC as the Flag Carrier for Bangladesh. It looks much more powerful than the new colors- witch to me has really nothing to offer visually. Its good to see some airlines come to their senses. Some being TAAG Angola, Air India and the latest being Biman Bangladesh.
And the classic BLACK NOSE?.....Oh man!...Just fantastic!

I love the old color but I believe new color shows the change that Biman Bangladesh is going through. They are modernizing the airline and I think it was the perfect color to represent it. Also, I love the classic black color on the nose but again it only looks cool on the DC10 aircrafts.
You might get your wish Senga. There's a thread on A.net about the government not being happy with the new c/s and reverting to the old scheme!Quote:

mark,
This means I hope to get the new colors before they removed it or paint it over on the lease 777. I do wish BBC would come back in sooner than later.
