So Long Pontiac :(

The last Pontiac has rolled off the line in Michigan, while I'm not as into cars as I use to be Pontiac was one of my favorite brand of cars. My 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP was my "20s" car and I loved that car, still do. It was fast, sleek, well appointed, and reliable. When I sold it she had 157,000 miles on it and still looked and ran like it was new. I sort of regret selling it and not keeping it as a "fun" car. In any event another great household name goes by the way side.

I owned a 70' Firebird. Fun to drive though not as well made as the Mopar stuff or Mustang I owned. It is sad to see because Pontiac did look better than most of GM lines

The Max out performs the Mustang and pretty much all the Dodge high performace products on the market right now.

They were muscle cars so you beat on them and spent all day fixing them. For a daily driver especially me who on the spur of the moment likes to drive long distances the Japanese can't be beat. Much more dependable.

Quite true. But Tom, a stock Maxima outperforming what I assume is a MOPAR enhanced Mustang? I think not.

MOPAR is Dodge....Mustang is Ford Mario. A Maxima off the showroom can easily out perform a V8 Mustang off the showroom as well as a moded Max can out perform an equally equiped moded Mustang.

I know the difference and infused that to see who'd pick up on it. (Its as volatile a fight as A vs B ;) ) but they are all the same, just mods off the stock car.

My point is that I doubt Nick's stock Maxima would outperform a tricked up Pony. Im talking stock vs mods here. And I speak from experience as the 2006 3.5 Altima V6 that I drove was the same as the 2005 Maxima but a touch lighter and zippier.

Off the line, heck my old 3.5 Altima (same as the Maxima) would take a stock 4 cyl Pony off the line. But I've never go to the line vs. a tricked out Pony.


Ahhh..... so I turned back the 2006 3.5 Altima lease on Monday. It was a very nice car and I thought long about letting it go. But now that we have the new car, I decided to keep our

2000 Nissan Altima, which has less than 86K on it. I hadnt driven it in a while and now having driven it all week, and had it inspected on Tuesday, I have to say I love the ride maybe even more so than the 2006 Altima. The 4 cyl is just a smoother running engine and you'd think the transmission was CVT (its not).

Please...those things are plastic pieces of Shat!. Chevy is bringing back the Caprice in 2011 based off of the G8 which is a great car, might look at that. I will say though the Taurus SHO looks like a winner as well.

I believe Chevy is bringing back the Caprice in 2011 as a Police Vehicle Only.
