Is it my imagination or are 126 and 127 really close together, and believe me I think it's a good thing? Hard to believe we are living the twighlight of the Shuttles career.
Thanks for posting Gerard, I did not know.
Cheers

Nope not your imagination. In fact 127 was on duty as a "Rescue Shuttle" ready to launch in case there was
trouble during 126s mission with the Hubble telescope.
Is florida time 5 hrs behind UK time ?
If it is then the shuttle will take off 12.17pm UK time.
126 (the Hubble mission) was delayed from October-ish when something else broke right before they were about to fly. It took a while to build the new part, develop a procedure, and train it, so the flight was pushed back. 127 I think was always scheduled to go around this time.
With this in mind I might extend this Florida extravaganza one extra day because afterall who needs to come home to see their great aunt and uncle. lol
Launch postponed: Hydrogen leak.
For at least 96 hours and even then there is a range conflict because a satellite is being launched from the Cape onQuote:

Postponed again: Another leak during fueling.
They will try again July, 11 @ 7:45PM EST.Quote:

The clock is up and running for the July 11 7:39PM launch and a test fueling of the external tank revealed no external hydrogen leak verifying that repairs were successfull.
From NASA "possible thunderstorms Saturday evening give the shuttle a 40% chance of launching".
Delayed again due to lightning strikes on the Launch pad Friday afternoon. As of this writing they are hoping for only
a 24 hour delay and will try again Sunday night. They are evaluating any damage done by the lightning strikes.
Stay tuned.
The Wx channel said they were going to try tonight.(Sat) Has that changed ?
As per NASA they are scheduled for a 7:13 liftoff tonite (Sunday).Quote:

Lightning actually hit one of the launch pads.

Just IN - SCRUBBED AGAIN. Lightning in the area. Set for 6:25 tomorrow.
Last I heard with same forecast.
No go tomorrow. Next shot is 6:03pm Wednesday. If it's scrubbed again they'll have to wait until the end of the month.Quote:

Pink Floyd in space. Very cool.
The astronauts were awakened this morning at 5:03AM to "Wish You Were Here" played for lead spacewalker Dave Wolf.
Just landed minutes ago. Nice landing!
