So the A380 will be back to NY on August 1st. Anyone know what runway she will be coming in on, or post relevant info regarding this.

That's a long ways out to be thinkin of that bro. Wind currents and other varibales will determine which rwy they use. Today, 31's have been in use for the first time (that I know of) in forever, so that will be a game time decision.
More important question is: Who the hell wants to meet up?
I'll be around.
Phil, you off that day or heading out after work?
I have that whole week off, yo.
I'm game.
Kenny, what I meant was, which runways can hold the 380. If i remember, only the 13/31's?
I'm there...haven't decided how I'm getting there though...if anyone wants to coordinate from Brooklyn, let me know...I will probably have access to a car, but if it's just me, I'd rather go straight from work on the LIRR...
It's a scheduled 4:45 PM arrival, so if it's on-time, we'll probably see it by 4:30...
When last she came, it was a 22L arrival my friend.Quote:

Neither was I, but she flew over my house on approach.
Sounds like I'm gonna work at JFK on that day!!
I have the whole day off, so I will definitely be game for a full day of spotting (better get some extra memory cards & batteries now!). If anyone needs a ride, I'll have my truck with scanner built-in.
Also, FYI, the A380 can use 22L/4R as it is 200 feet wide, but I believe she has also utilized 13R/31L during her first visit here without issue. It will definitely be a "day of" decision as to which runway she will use, so multiple scanners monitoring multiple approach frequencies will be the way to go if you want some set-up time.
Andy...NO DRINKING THE NIGHT BEFORE!!!!!
I already took the day off from work so I will be out for a whole day of spotting for sure!
I'm game. I was thinking of going up to spot at JFK with my dad soon anyways.
What economic hotels near JFK are recommended?
I'm considering a CamelBak filled with beer. :)Quote:

Count me and my dad (bluejuice) in!!!!!!
bluejuice is your Dad? I didn't know that.
We'll see you there!
i might be off from babysitting so I believe I might be there... I just need to know where I can meet all of you guys at... I might be at JFK early in the morning that day..
LOL Well I can't make any promises, since I'll be at the Jersey shore the day before, but trust me, NOT EVEN A HANGOVER will stop me from being out for the A380. Besides, I fully intend on bringing a 6 pack, a few beach chairs, and some teriyaki beef jerkey out for the day! That's right Kenny, I'm addicted!!!
Found out I have to work that whole effin' weekend. Not a happy camper, will have to wait for the next weekend to catch it.
I plan on being there.
Sergio, if you'd like pm me and I'll give you my #. That way iffin you can make it, you'll know where to go.
i am coming in a little late and am totally new to plane spotting, especially at JFK. I will be coming in the evening round 7pm via public transportation, where is the best place to be to see A380 in terminal at T4? and how do i get there via MTA?
Where are you guys meeting up to spot. I'm also a first time spotter.
Hey guys, welcome!
We will not know the spot that we'll be meeting at until that morning, as we do not yet know the runway configurations. Stay tuned here or use the spotting maps to determine which areas can be used once you learn the runway usage at that time.
The first time the 380 came to Jfk it landed on 22 (Dont remember if it was left or right)Quote:

I'll try to take the day off and get out there. I haven't seen spotting in a while.
I'll be there with a fellow Futt-ographer. We'll probably be out early that morning, so I'm sure we'll run into plenty of you as the day goes on.
Phil D. - looking forward to catching up this time around.
Josh
What is the arrival time on Friday?
4:45 PM.
Ohhhhh boy...I'm gettin damp in the panties!

I got my 100-400 reserved...the weather is looking pretty good...
I hope that I'll be able to catch her in October! As a side note - have you seen the darn luxury suite in first class????...DAMN..I want the money to fly this!!!
