I know Brian and prolly Andy are down for it. Anyone else want to join the NYCA Church group for clicks and giggles?

I may stop by for a couple of hours if I'm way way ahead on packing...
I am down to for some spotting on Sunday for sure.
"I am so happy I am shooting JetBlue!"
Me too. I've been staying in doing too much studio photography and not enough spotting.
I'll already be out on the island (beach weekend in Point Lookout) and I'll try to swing by for a while if the girlfriend allows it.
I'm 50/50...it will be a gametime decision.
Aw c'mon man...I'll bring the cheeseburgers!Quote:

All depends on the WX and any plans that come up this weekend but I might come out for a late Sunday spotting session.
Are you guys going to be out earlier or later in the day? I've been invited to afternoon drinks in the city, so now I'm torn...
Lush...I'm gonna try to get out as early as I can (runway depending).Quote:

Kenny - if you'll be out early, I'll probably meet up with you and bounce in the early afternoon. Let me know what your plans are. BTW when are we meeting up for a round?!?
Prolly after A380 weekend. I haven't forgotten bro!
That week just opened up for me, strongly considering taking off Aug 1 for A380 day...she is due in around 4-5 right?
I don't have a drinking problem...I drink, I get drunk, I fall down, no problem. :)Quote:

Brian, that's pretty cool! Guess you can't keep spotters from their hobby, no matter what!
It's possible that I might be flying in from Atlanta Friday morning (not sure if I want to come back Friday morning or Thursday night), but I have the day off, so I think I should be up for some spotting and definitely by the time the A380 comes in.
Man, I'd love to get some spotting in.Quote:

Looks like they're using the 13s, at least this morning, and with the winds unlikely to get better (the TAF has them getting even more favorable for the 13s), I don't think it's worth the trip out for me today. Maybe some other time when they're on the 22s or 31s.
Anyone ever try shooting from The Lefferts Blvd AirTrain station when arriving 13?
Is it worthwhile to try (light, ball breakage, etc)? How does one get there from the Belt?Quote:

By the employee parking lots right?
Looking at Google Maps, it looks like either the Long Term Lot station (Lefferts) or Federal Circle would work. I've never been on the AirTrain via the Howard Beach station so I don't know about the Lefferts Station but the Federal Circle station is completely enclosed at the platform level and the glass is tinted I believe.
But wouldn't PAPD be on us post haste?
Is there anywhere in the vecinity of Howard Beach (or anywhere else off JFK grounds) that could be good? I'm only asking cuz I'm typing from the phone as I wait for Brian at Cedarhurst.
There is a spot in Howard Beach that has been used before, but the residents are very sensitive in that area. PAPD might visit in the Lefferts area as well.
The winds are under 10kts right now, and not expected to change until around 0400L tomorrow, so they can switch to any runway if they feel the need to do so.
Still using 13's, I cant justify the 90 minute drive out there for the uncertainty.
Maybe in two weeks.
John, you missed a great afternoon bro. Phil, it was great meeting you. We gotta grab some beers sometime. Brian, you crack me up man! Need sleep and a shower...will post pics soon.
Yeah, where are the pics????
Rafal
