If it looks nice, I may hit JFK this afternoon.
If your out today, keep a look out for some hornets doing a flyover for the Mets home opener. Most likely they may land at LGA. I'm at work and can't make it. Get me some pics :borat:
I just realized that they are still landing 4. If the Rhinos did land I hope someone got a pic from Planeview Park.
I have to take my abortion..er..phone into sprint but if it's still early enough, I'll meet up.

Kenny - send give me a text/call when you get out. Hopefully you can meet up with us. I'm leaving garden city now, hoping to get down to JFK by 2:30 or so...
Will do bro.
I took these with my Nikon D200 + Nikon AF-S 17-55MM/F2.8G ED IF DX at brookville park. Just bought this lens last week, I like it~ :D

Turned out to be a great afternoon of spotting. Met Andy at Bayswater for some 13L departure action around 2:30. The weather was beautiful and the action interesting. Josh May ended up joining us after a bit. Here are some of the highlights:

Not sure what the story with this Thai was - we saw her arrive around 3pm, park over by IAB, then leave around 6:30. Don't know if the regular late morning departure returned for some reason, or if they were just running incredibly late.

We had an "interesting" encounter with NYPD that I'll post in the Spotter Blotter. We had some great light and great catches. Sorry you couldn't make it out Kenny - it was a good time!
Nice pics and beautiful location, where is the exactly spot your guys stay? :)
Thanks! We were at Bayswater Park. If you look at the JFK spotting map here http://nycaviation.com/jfkspotting it's location "D", a park on Jamaica Bay.
Nice shots! We got several of these guys departing later in the afternoon.
Im totaly in love with that Iberia A340-600 shot... Very interesting seeing Thai A345 departing JFK in the evening hours,, I dont remember seeing that flight on Flightaware this afternoon.. Great grab on Thai A345 though..
I saw the Thai pop on flightaware. Great catches guys, too bad Sprint tied me up. My phone was formatting itself.
Great shots guys....looked like wonderful light!
Here are some more from the other side of town, 22L:

Man I hate when I have to work during these "great light" days.
Great shots guys, thanks for posting!
Going through my photos from yesterday, I saw this AA 762 - N351AA - had a special logo next to the titles on the fuselage. Any ideas what it is? Looks like maybe an eagle and a bridge. I didn't see any shots on JP.net or A.net showing it.

Also, yesterday was a good day for contrails. Looking at a few I shot, I discovered what looks to be a C-17 making trails in the sky:

Moose - there is an MD-80 with the same title (I'm trying to find my picture of it) - and it's called the Tulsa Express (for the maintenance people)..as soon as I find it - I'll post it...
I think that's a C-5.
Nice shots!
Tulsa Express, because it keeps going back for maintenance???
Moose
Sorry - the one I had was the Flagship Tulsa (shown below)....but..thinking about it now - I've seen either a B738 or a B752 of American with a "Powered by Pratt & Whitney" sticker on it - that's what that might be...

You're right, it was my fat fingers that made it a 762 in my post. :oops:Quote:
