It's a little early I know, but if the wx is nice, I'll be out there. Brian, I know you're down. Andy and everyone else, how 'bout it?

If I can afford the gas, I'll be out. I'll also be out on Saturday the 22nd, first EWR then JFK/LGA.
I may go out early in the morning...I have to go to NJ in the afternoon though.
Anyone up for Planeview Park in the morning if the winds cooperate?
It all depends on when my bird comes home. If it's late in the day, I could be there, if they arrive early afternoon, no way.
Not this weekend, I need some rest after last weekend.
I probably won't be out early on Sunday due to your typical Saturday night activities in the city (read: heavy drinking), but I definitely want to take the new camera out for a spin. Do you think you'll be out towards the afternoon Kenny? If so, I think I can plan on meeting you out there.
I plan on being there all day bro.
So the winds are forecast to be NW on Sunday...I've got rental reservations on the 100-400 and plan to get to HoBe early...I've never been there before...
I'll be there at 6:30AM.....NOT spotting!!!(well maybe) LOL!! My wife and youngest son are coming in on Jet Blue from Tucson, Az.Quote:

Well, my buddy who was supposed to come up and booze with me on Saturday night won't make it due to the weather today. Looks like I can join you for a full day of spotting on Sunday Kenny! Let me know when you're heading out and I'll meet you, new camera, lenses, and all!
Adam - let me know what your plans are and I can offer you a ride from the subway/train station to Hobe.
Brian and I are car-pooling, courtesy of ZipCar...we should be at HoBe around 8 if all goes well, and we've both got 100-400 lenses, courtesy of Adorama Rentals...:D
I may be available as well, will play it by ear the next couple of days.
Andy, I'll be heading out soon as the dog wakes me up lol (probably around 0600-0630 ugh). So why don't you call me or shoot me a text whenever you get up and we'll get together.
If all goes as planned, I'm going to make the trek out tomorrow. Is it windy at HoBe? I mean, wear a hat and gloves cold?
Hobe can be fairly windy since it's on the water, and looking at tomorrow's temps, I would say yes, bring hat and gloves.
I have been outside my apartment and it has been mild, but when I got out to Howard Beach it was freezing.
Hi,
Air Berlin's A330-300 D-AERS will be coming in to JFK from DUS tomorrow, in case anybody is after this one!
greets
Tamon
Our dark-green Cathay Pacific friend is inbound to JFK today...:D
I should be out nice and early tomorrow ... see you guys at HoBe!
Look like she is going to be the Sunday morning departure :borat: :borat: :borat:Quote:

Holy crap I can't believe I'm up this early...
You and me both...
Beautiful sunrise over HoBe. Thank god for little dogs who can't control their bladder or keep their mouths shut lol.
Very nice shot of D-AERS, Senga.
And that's awesome that you got to catch both of the Air India's in the afternoon! Was that pretty much as much as the -200LR banked?
Boring...yeah...right Senga!! :) nice shots!
great shots with the two Air Indias 777200LR and the 747-400
Senga, where were you when you shot the Air Berlin? There was a group of us over at Firestone when she came in - you should have come over!
Great shots Super Senga glad to see some Hobe shots from the afternoon.
I'm sure others while chime in with photos, but today was definitely one of the best days to be out spotting. The skies were clear and the light was beautiful, and we were rewarded with a bunch of great planes. Cathay "Asia's World City", Tradewinds Cargo 747, Delta's Grammy-decaled 757, the "30 years" Comair CRJ, two El Al Cargo 747s (one blank, one titled), Asiana Cargo 747, Austrian Star Alliance 767, Eva Air Cargo 747, Habitat, Air Berlin, LOT Star Alliance 767. Had a couple of misses as Miami Air and XL 737s and Birthday Girl went to 31L, and we didn't spot Pink Delta at all, but overall, it was definitely a catch-filled day. I'll get some photos up once I've made some progress of the nearly 1300 I took.
I can't believe I'm the first one to post this...

Wow. I think most would agree that this aircraft is the more beautiful one that graces our airport.
I dunno...I still haven't caught Habitat :evil:Quote:

Senga,
At least I know who the other car was at the mounds now for the Air India 747 8)
but the shot of the Air India 772 is off the hook. (going back to my happy place again....)
Btw guy's, the Delta Comair CR9J "30 Years came back in on 22L at sunset.
Also a silver 763 with 3 green waves on the tail (much like British Airways tail) came in as I was getting ready to leave.
I couldn't see any name on the fuselage. Sorry could not ID it as I was being kept company by New York's finest at the time......again.
Great day and much fun with everyone.
Barry
Work interfered with me getting out there (again). Though I couldn't help but think what a great day it would have been with the clear skies and great light. Maybe next time...
The light was incredible this morning. Probably the best I've seen since I started spotting. I'd love the winter if it weren't so cold :PQuote:

Gordon,
Thats basically all the AIC 772 did. He did a small wing dip but it wasn't really noticeable.
John,
I shot the Air Berlin A333 from Costco next to the water. I saw lots of photogs that were in Firestone but didn't recognize anyone/cars when I drove by. When were you there?
Senga
