I'll try to get out on Sunday or Monday if the weather is good.
I'll be out Sunday.
Hoping to catch Maxjet.
I'll probably be out Saturday. I have to work Sunday and Monday :(
I will not be out. I will be busy catching up on the 1500 shots I have taken earlier this year and never put up or had a go with.
I may be out this weekend...it's Columbus Day already? Damn, out of work a few weeks, and I've lost all track of time :D
Of course, it's not really Columbus Day - that comes on October 12. It's one holiday I never forget. It's my dad's birthday (his middle name is Columbus, btw). Growing up, we always had off from school, and his union contract at TWA gave them their birthday off as a holiday, so we were always home together.
I might be out Saturday. I want to try to get out earlier to catch some departure shots, but I'm not a morning person and unless they're departing on the 4s it's really a waste. If I end up heading to LI anyway, I might do the same I did last time, and do some afternoon spotting from about 3pm on.
I was thinking of trying Planeview park this weekend, but if most people are heading to JFK then I just might have to rearrange my plans. Anything good scheduled in this weekend, Saturday or Sunday?
Hmm, I actually hadn't thought of hitting LGA; I haven't been there in a few months. Are any of the US special schemes scheduled to hit LGA Saturday?
Do you know what time Habitat is due in at JFK?
Actually, disregard; I confused the numbers for Pink Delta and Habitat; it's Pink Delta that'll be in this weekend, per this post: http://nycaviation.com/forum/viewtop...p=68197#p68197Quote:

I'll try to be out Sat. Andy give me a shout if you head out.
I've still yet to catch her on camera.Quote:

The elusive Pink Delta
I got yet another terrible picture of Pink Delta today. It got foggy about 30 minutes before she landed. In the middle of the afternoon. RVR greater than 6000 my ass. I've caught her three times and yet to have a decent pic to show for it. :(
I shall have to try again tomorrow...
I was there earlier today as well and left shortly before Air Tahiti Nui dropped in. So much haze. It was frustrating as hell. Tomorrow is another day.
I must have just missed you. Air Tahiti Nui was the first thing that pissed me off today :)Quote:

Funny, Air Tahiti was the last thing that pissed me off. LOL. I went out specifically for that bird and when she was showing late, I got impatient and left. As soon as I'm driving up Rockaway I look out my window and what do I see? Yup Air Tahiti. I got to sit and think about it for the next hour as I sat in traffic.
Haha...that's the opposite of what Habitat did to me last weekend...I was walking down 225th St, and she flew over my head, much faster than I could get my camera out. Some guy on his stoop was looking at me like he'd never seen a white guy curse before :)Quote:

I thought it was 1630 on Sunday, but as long as the WX is good I'd like to go out there.Quote:

For those who are out and about have fun !
Cheers

What does the runway visual range have to do with you getting a bad shot because of haze? RVR is a measurement of how far you can see down the runway while on it. The ceiling could be 200 feet and the RVR could still be greater then 6000 feet.Quote:

SO wait, did any one get pics of Air Tahiti ? In those hazy conditions? I'd be intersted to see them.
What days are they in NY now?
Wednesday and Friday, Mario.Quote:

Do you guys think there is going to be alot of haze and fog at JFK tomorrow?
It should be ok in the afternoon. It was beautiful today, runway configuration notwithstanding...
Weather is not looking so good for tomorrow so I don't think I'll be going out.
Damn Nimby !Quote:
