The long range weather forecast looks good for this coming weekend so far - anyone going to be around to go out on Saturday or Sunday ?
I'm going to try to be out one of those days.
I'll probably be out for a while on Saturday.
My plan at the moment is to head to wherever they are departing from on Saturday morning - I'll be arriving at LGA at 10am - hopefully HoBe departures on Saturday morning, then head to wherever the arrivals are Saturday afternoon (Firestone or the Mounds) and then maybe catch some late afternoon departures somewhere...Sunday morning I'd like to catch the early morning arrivals and then the morning departures before heading back to LGA to fly home Sunday afternoon...would like to meet up with as many of the NYCA crew as possible....
Not this weekend, family commitment.
I'm planning on Saturday morning until 10 or 11 and possibly all day Sunday.
I can prob shoot from 3 till dark on Sat with you guys. Sunday prob a bit later.
I'm thinking I can shoot either Saturday afternoon or Sunday, whichever works with Mark's schedule. Probably the int'l arrivals rush after 2PM on Saturday would bring the best spotting, in my opinion.
Saturday perhaps, but Sunday definitely. All if the RWY's and WX coincide.
Hi Mark,
I'm probably going to head down to LGA mid morning then over to JFK mid afternoon. I want to try and catch some MD11's as I missed them all last week!
Mark, was hoping to meet you this weekend but job and family duties are going to keep me grounded again. Was watching the local advance wx forecast this morning and Sat and Sun both calling for MOSTLY SUNNY with highs in the upper 60's and lows in the high 40's. Looks like you lucked out and with the South Fla heat and humidity it should feel pretty great up here.
Enjoy,
Ron Peel
Ron - if you are going to be at work Sunday afternoon, let me know and I'll try and give you a shout when I get to LGA to fly home!
Well, my other plans for Saturday fell through some I'm free to do some spotting now. I'll probably be out at JFK most of the day, but I might head up to LGA if they're landing either runway 4 (Planeview Park) or Expressway Visual 31 (World's Fair Marina).
Great!!..the more the merrier!!!
ill be either at the marinara near LGa or the hobe beach around 5pm
hmmm..I'm wondering if we can entice our illustrious web site owner out as well??????....and..his good lady??????
I'd love to, guys, but I have work until 7am and need to rest while I can before a long trip for work starting Monday. Sorry guys. :(
I never got "illustrious" before. :-p
Work...phhhhttttt...it's relaxation lifting up the camera lens!!...and..then you can't work on 2 hours sleep????..LOL..damn..pity Phil - have a good trip!
For anyone going out Saturday and hopefully joining Mark see my Zero G 727 at LGA update on the News page. Might cause some of you to want to swing by LGA on Saturday. And have a great trip and time here in NYC Mark !
LGA777
I'm canceling for tomorrow due to food poisoning.
Looking forward to getting some spotting in next weekend, though.
Have a good time everyone! Sorry I'll miss you, Mark.
Sorry we'll miss you Mark! Have a great time....the weather looks like it will be fab. :)
Just got back from a great day spotting. Mark, Nick, Bill, Andy, and Phil (the other Phil) are great guys. There was a super assortment of planes in today, and Mark was dancing around like a kid in a candy store. It was an absolute pleasure meeting all of you.
It was very nice weather this morning and I am very happy to meetin Mark. I came to shoot EK, EY and TG and I achieved my goal. Too bad we missed JL 744 and EVA MD-11 daparting.
Here are some of my shots:

Tomorrow is another day - Kenny and Andy are coming out early - lets hope for great light and great aircraft!

No problem guys, it was a great time. Nice to see Habitat come in and then the steak tar tar was the best!
These are from this morning. After Mark, Andy, and I froze our asses off at Bayswater, I moved over for some 4L departures.

Again thanks to Mark for bringing is spirited love for the hobby and his incredible spotters luck. It truly was a pleasure my friend.
Great shots Wunala! Way to catch the Emirates logo on the underbelly.
Thanks Gordon! We missed you when the Iberia 346 came over yesterday!!
Nice shots! I would have loved to get out there with you this morning, but I'm not really a morning person, and I had other plans today anyway. Maybe someday I'll manage to get out and catch the morning crowd.
To add to that the gear doors opening! Nice shots!Quote:

Yeah man it was cooold this morning, but worth it for some of the shots. I must say, Mark brought some incredible spotter's luck with him from Florida. Between Habitat, Alitalia New c/s, Wunala Dreaming (though Ken was the only one that caught it!) it was really a treat. It was awesome to meet all of you yesterday and definitely looking forward to some more spotting with y'all.
Also, did any of the guys shooting at the Mounds yesterday shoot a Republic (DL Connection painted) ERJ? I got two decent shots of N568RP and it has some kind of "800th" marking painted across the side of the fuselage, but it's a very light blue and would be easy to miss if not zoomed in. I know a lot of people think "eh it's just another RJ", but I'm curious if anyone else shot it. I'll post a pic when I have the chance (and energy) to do some editing. I guess that's why they say "shoot everything"...
Great spotting with you guys! BTW, Ken, great shots of the 4L departures! Looking forward to seeing the rest of yours and Mark's!
Here's a shot of her.Quote:
