JFK 1/2/12

Amanda and i are currently in the Bronx till Tuesday. We plan to head out to JFK Monday, hit me up if anyone is gonna be shooting....

If the weather is nice and the approaches are right, I'll be there!

Im not sure I'll be sober on Monday.... looks like 2012 is probably the last year in history and Im planning to fave some fun :)

Chris don't let all that hullabaloo get to you...remember, the Mayans said it could be a new beginning too!

I should be out.

My g/f and I will be out around 9AM, but can only stay until about 12:30 or so. Wind looks gusty from the WSW, which should mean 22s. Will people head to Bayswater for departures, or Woodmere for arrivals?

Bayswater is open at around 9:00am typically so maybe North Woodmere for arrivals if Bays is closed... although distance is bad for both photographically :-( I should be around most of the day weather permitting.

I'll try and make it out.

Here are some of my images from this morning. Only out for a couple of hours and had to run. Unfortunately, I missed Transaero, but glad I caught EZ Jet.

Most are taken with my trusty old 50D. The last 4 were taken with my brand new 5D Mk II (all images, with both cameras, used the Canon 100-400L). The 5D's sharpness is out of this world, but the 50D will continue to be my spotting camera as its focus and shutter burst are much, much better.

im gonna be behind add my photos in. got much editing to do. I was happy to catch EZJet, as well as 2 Qatar Admiri planes, A330 and A342.. Glad i was able to bring amanda out today, and a pleasure hanging out with Nick V and Tis...

Was at Panera for just a little while today, nearly missed an Aer Lingus and Emrites A380 as I was arriving. That was my first official spotting of an A380!

I was only shooting with my 70-200 and was not able to shoot from Panera if that's where the rest of you guys were. Nice hanging with Manny and seeing Moose.

I was pissed about that Copa.. I blew that one big time.. Mark I saw u left while Nick and I sat by the pet store there, and that Etihad u cought, i saw it coming in while we was on Rockaway Blvd..

Oh, so that was you. I thought I saw Nick's car when I got to the lot, but then saw Manny, and as you weren't with him and the rest of the spotters, thought it wasn't you guys. I was actually talking to Manny wondering where you were. Didn't occur to any of us that you were just a couple cars down.
