Re: Some older (pre- '09) stuff...
I'm Loving that last 732 Aloha!!! SWEET!
Re: Some older (pre- '09) stuff...
i agree with fred, that aloha is great! i also love the angle on that AAL 738.
Re: Some older (pre- '09) stuff...
Thanks, fellas! I wish I had a better shot of the Aloha Funbird, but the rest are as- if not more- heat hazed than what's posted. Was a real treat seeing her that day, especially since Aloha is no longer with us... The AA bird was taken at MIA, about 700 feet east of the 94th Aero Sq parking lot, out in the grass, which gives great angles on 12 departures... Just wish we could still park in the pull off area- made walking just a tad easier when they were landing on 30!
Re: Some older (pre- '09) stuff...
I love the Aloha 732 and the M(R)etro 732.
Re: Some older (pre- '09) stuff...
Thanks man! Wish I'd had the chance to take more of MetroJet, but timing worked against me back then...
Here's a few more for general consumption... Some 727's from the late '90's and up to about 2003. Mostly scans of photo negatives or slides, and also some of my earliest computer edits, so the quality isn't so great...

Too many to point out....great collection, Huss. My favorite though has got to be the T-43.

Thanks as always, Phil! The T-43 is one that forever sticks in my mind, as they used Lackland-Kelly for radar patterns, given it's location and deconfliction from both SAT and the swarms of T-37's, T-38's and T-1's that would dominate the pattern at Randolph. As a basic trainee, the 'Gator was forever flying radar downwinds almost right over my dorm (barracks), day or night, and eventually my flight gained enough lattitude to where I could take a few seconds glance up and wish I had a camera- without incurring the rath of my TI! Sharp memories from a time when this career was a fun adventure as opposed to the mental puzzle it has become...

Great stuff, Brian! Thanks for sharing.

Beauty.
Loving the Dash 8 and the Hairdryer quad (Bae 146)
I never realized that VS livery was used on their 747-200's. When I last flew them from Newark they had the white (Ivory?) body, red tail and grey titles, and that was 2000!
Lovely stuff, thanks for sharing :)

Moose- No problem! It's pretty fun to go sifting thru the archives looking for stuff that might catch a few eyes... Glad you like them so far!
Ychocky- Glad you like that shot of the two "slowpokes" out on the ramp! Virgin took about 8 Rolls powered -200's off the used market (mostly from Air NZ, but a few from Cathay) between '98 and '01, as cheap and available lift to cover their eastern US routes, while the -400's and A-340s were used to expand the network on longer haul sectors. If memory serves, from '99-'01, Newark saw two of these a day, with occasional subs by their few remaining Pratt powered bretheren.
You aren't hallucinating! The Rollls birds WERE painted in the traditional arctic white & bright red with gray lettering on delivery, but most of them were re-painted in the silver/red well prior to being sold on or sent to the desert. I believe that the 1 or 2 Rolls birds that were delivered in late '00/ early '01, may have been delivered in the new colors directly from the paint shop, but the original 6 came painted red & white. (I'd have to spend a while browsing A.Net to verify the last two deliveries, but for some reason that seems to stick out in my memory...)
