This is kinda like a poll. How do you guys commute to work and how long does it take?
I live in Bayside and work in Flushing. I usually catch the Q12 or Q13 bus and take it to work. It takes between 15-25 minutes, depending on traffic on Northern Blvd. Our office used to be in Bayside, so before, it was just a 5 minute walk.

I live in eastern Queens and work in Midtown...about an hour via bus + subway.
Live in West Palm Beach - work in Ft Lauderdale - 1 hour plus up and down the Florida turnpike each day.
About 3 blocks worth of walking to the train, 3 stops on the N/W, transfer at 59th/Lex, 3 stops on the 6 to 33rd.
On a good morning, with seamless transfers: less than 20 minutes.
On a bad morning, with stupid people, bad weather and train traffic: Up to 40 minutes.
I have to point out that this is a HUGE improvement over when we lived in College Point where my commute consisted of: taking the Q25 from the beginning of the line to Main Street; taking the 7 train from there to Grand Central and transferring to the 6. On a GOOD day, that would take 1:15.
9-minute walk to R/V/G train, then the E from Roosevelt to Jamaica/Sutphin, then the AirTrain.
Good day: 45 minutes.
Bad day: Seven years.

30 mins on the Southern State or Sunrise Highway West. Its an easy commute hardly ever a huge amount of traffic unless there's an accident.
Right now, my daily commute is about the five feet from my bed to my desk, since my company is temporarily without office space and I'm working from home.
Before that, I had about a 3-block walk to the NJT 126 bus to the Port Authority, then a walk from 40th St & 8th Avenue over to 39th & Madison. Took about half an hour, sometimes a little less.
Before that (when I was still living in Franklin Square, but working in Manhattan), I used to have to park about a half mile from the Nassau Boulevard LIRR station, walk to it, take the train to Penn Station and walk from there.
And going back one further, when I was working in Melville, it was a trip through Garden City, onto the Meadowbrook up to the Northern State to the LIE. Best time: 30 minutes. Worst: 1 hour, 45 minutes. Typically: 40-45.
My daily commute is right at 9 miles, Syosset to Melville. Most mornings it take about 25 minutes. With no traffic, I can be there in under 15 minutes. In bad traffic, it can take 45 minutes! And a couple of snowy evenings, it's taken close to 2 hours to get home :shock:
Live in Patchogue, work @ ISP Airport, a 10 min drive up Vet's Highway, off the Sunrise Service Road. (and it's only 10 mins if I get stuck at the lights.)
Other than people who work out of their homes, the shortest commute I know of is my boss. She lives in a housing development off Rt 110, just down the block from our office (she lived there before joining the company). Our group moved from our main building, across the street into the building with our production facilities, and it cut her commute in half :wink:
5 minute walk to subway, 12 minutes on Red Line, coupla minutes to work, 22 minutes door to desk. I can also drive, Rock Creek Pkwy to Constitution Ave - 22 minutes as well (17 or 18 during the summer or a holiday week). Probably one of the easiest urban car commutes in the country.
Park Ave. (Long Beach) The Atlantic Beach Bridge. Up the Rockaway past JFk, than Van Wyck to Grand Central off at the exit for terminal a into the 10E lot than a bus to the terminal and off to the tower.
Well my commute to school is a short drive on Michigan road M36, about 5 minutes :D
