I'll probably be at Jones Beach tomorrow too (show center down in the sand) with a Lowepro bag and a grey shirt. If anyone wants meet up, feel free to pm me.
Fingers crossed for good weather!

I'll try & look for ya Nikon. I'm usually show center, up by the water. Don't know how close to the water I'll want to be today, so maybe back by where the Knights usually land.
I normally go to the museum Sat, the beach Sun, then back to the museum Mon to watch the departures.
Like I said earlier, I'll have a black F/A-18 Hornet T-Shirt on, but it may be covered by a blue jacket if it's too chilly. Let's just all ask anyone lugging a DSLR if they're from NYC Aviation Forum
I will be pretty easy to spot regardless, I'm 6' and my wife is 4'10", so look for that
I'll be wearing my NYCA apparel by the sand!!
I just got down to the beach and it is a BEAUTIFUL DAY for an airshow!
At the beach now. It's windy as ****. We are just to the right of show center about 150 feet west of the lifeguard.
Two words...backup camera!!!

Wanaladreamin, is that you walking up and down the beach - with the water protective bag over your slr?
Those shots from yesterday are pretty dang awesome Kenny, can't wait to see what you guys all come up with today!
Not me Pat. I was to center-right in a brown leather jacket talking to Manny and Jared, whom is was nice to meet in person.
I think I know who you are talking about. That was Rick. He's a sick sick photographer.
Yup! Very nice to meet you Kenny, it was a pleasure! Also nice seeing Manny!
THAT CF18 was utterly disgraceful, got some ok shots...
I was extremely disappointed with that performance as well. He only did a few passes, NONE with afterburner, and none very low. The freakin Extras were louder than he was! I mean, I'm glad they came & all, but really! They have extra fuel from not performing yesterday, don't they?!
Schumer did make an appearance. If you were near show center, to the right of where the sky-divers would have landed, and heard a loud BOOOOOO.... that was me, LOL
Bill
I walked up and thanked him for the sequester. He didn't seem to like that one.
Nice shot Eric!
I agree, CF-18 was a bit of a letdown. That being said, TOP PERFORMANCE IMO, hands down to Chapman & Holland! They flew the balls of the planes out there in tough winds. Awesome job!!!

Photo Pass. One of the few good opportunities to shoot her.
These guys are the Rock Stars! What a performance today!

I also LOVED the Raiders. They've always been one of my favorites and it was great to see them on my home turf for a chance. Hope they're back again next year!

Took wife and son to watch the show today. It was so windy at the beach. Sometimes I could not even hold the camera steady in the gust.
Here are some of my pictures.

Nice thatl the Catalina flew in the FlyBy of the AAM ships!! I was more excited seeing that fly than the CF-18. I was at Republic today and it was pretty windy there so I can imagine at the beach!! When the CF-18 returned they did one high flyover of 3-2 then back for low flyover of 1/1-9. The Catalina departed around 3:15 and they flew 4 flybys before heading out south to JFK airspace!! That was very cool and so great to see! Never have seen one flying before!!
Oh man I was in the car listening on the radio when Chucky came on!! Really pissed me off! Thank you Kenny!! Was wondering if anyone spoke up!!
Very wierd week with the sequester and then the weather putting a damper on excitement but GREAT JOB by all to even get an airshow up and running!!
Now....anyone with any idea when CF-18s wioll be heading out? Thanks.
The wind was a pain, but no heat haze, and no traffic! Holland and Chapman also stole the show for me, and seeing the Catalina fly made it more than worth it.
I can't edit much until I get home to my good monitor, but I don't have the glass for the beach anyway, so whatever. Here's hoping for a good time at the museum tomorrow!

Did anyone else get a copy of the 10th anniversary DVD? It's a nice little behind-the-scenes look at the air show, save for some awkward sounding interviews and a hand full of spelling mistakes (who's this John Clatt they refer to?).
I got the dvd but haven't yet watched it. I only did the dump of todays shots into the computer and I think I'll continue catching up on the previous days of shooting before I cull the hell out of today.

I won't be joining in the festivities tomorrow but in the interim, I'd very much like to thank the folks at the American Airpower Museum as always for their hospitality. Fred, John, Moose, Kenny, Steve, Tim, and Rick for the laughs and the viewing hookups. We MUST do this again real soon and Fred, I'll remember the beers this time!
Great coverage of the show everyone!
It was an F-18 - if he got into the burner, he would have had to hit a tanker on the way back to FRG... }:-O

Lets not forget about the amazing performances by SUNY farmingdale and the air tractor!
Which, btw, when did he show up???
Oh FFS that was awful.
This year's show sucked so bad, Linda Lovelace need not worry! The CF-18 was a complete disaster :frown:
But who cares, I got to see Dusty!
DING DING!
Atleast there was unlimited free icecream.
My favorite picture of the airshow

The CF-18's left about ten minutes ago or about 3:35 PM and used runway 1
Yes and I pulled up to the fence line of Rt 109 just as they were rolling (at 3:15)!! Very impressive take-off, low, loud and fast and it looked like Hornet 1 did a little tail wave for a bunch of guys standing by the numbers of 1. Absolutely beautiful day with the C-47 and B-17 up and down all day and a number of other AAM aircraft taking to the skys for Fly Overs!!
