Doing a job about a mile west of them can't wait to see them, I have a good treeless view.

Blue Angels canopies down
Snowbirds airborne , Ernie on runway , BA 1 states takeoff within 10 mins
Ernie is off. Kept it real low to the end of the runway and then did the steep climb
Can't wait to see everyone's photos of this.
Happy hunting, photographically of course.
Blue Angels taxing out for takeoff
They are off
It just never ever gets old , now can't wait for the raptors to come in I live around sayville and they sound wild
I'm in Melville and just spent the last 25 minutes outside the office building hoping for a glimpse of the Blues. There's a wide open area to view in the direction of FRG. Alas, I was hoping they'd head northward. But no... it was not to be.
Probably looked like an idiot standing there with a camera in hand but nothing to capture. I guess they went off R-14? From here, I could hear them quite well, but only saw very tiny specs moving rapidly away from FRG. Saw Ernie for just a few seconds before he too, turned away.
Just wasn't lucky today. Or yesterday either...
Yesterday morning, I had stopped by the Terminal before heading to the office to get some static shots of the Blues. Have a small (but useful) Canon Powershot which normally works quite well for me - I'm not a pro (or even close to it). Well... I turned it on and was greeted with a "Memory Card Error!" The thing worked just fine the day before - no idea what was wrong. Took it out - fiddled with it - put it back in. Nothing. Now I'm getting really ticked off.
Finally, I played around with some settings in the camera menus and eventually it took hold. Snapped about 35 shots of anything Blue I could get through the fence. I was happy. Photos taken, mission accomplished. Even checked them on the camera's LCD before leaving. Looked good.
Or so I thought.
Back at the office, I eagerly loaded up my SD card to check what I got. Yeah, the pictures were fine, but they were tiny! Apparently, in my haste to fix the SD card problem, I inadvertently set my image size to "email" (ie: real small).
Oy! Not thrilled about that. Does that ever happen to you guys?
I need a do-over!! When do they return?
The Angels just flew by my office's are of town (West 50th). You're right, Bones. Never EVER gets old. Had ZERO shot at a photo; gaps in the buildings were too tight to try and get anything in terms of focusing done. Enjoy the rest of the day, folks. NOW I'm officially ready for this weekend!
Two Snowbirds and Ernie have landed
Angels lead just started talking to FRG, so they're on the way back.
Just cleared to land on 14.
Yeah, I just saw them buzz by Syosset, in formation, under the cloud base - about 500 feet - smoke on!
Just saw them overhead here in Melville, wheels down, circling for landing with contrails off the wingtips.
All six have landed. # 7 is doing a media flight
Heard 7 on final a few moments ago
It never does get old.....was out there this am they looked great, sounded even better....Took some ok pictures, but am aggravated as the darn fence screwed up my autofocus just as they were taking off UUGGGGGHHHH...Hopefully better luck tomorrow (there is a very good reason I burn a week of vacation this week every year..lol)

More pics to come.
was there this morning and took some videos. it was aweeeesooomee!!!
anybody know take off time for tomorrow? it says from nyasinfo "blue angels circle maneuver" at 10:30AM. and also on saturday at 3pm it says blue angels meet and greet, that means we are allowed into republic where the angels are parked to meet the pilots????
If I remember correctly from 2010(Thunderbirds?), they open the gate behind the terminal to allow the public to access part of the tarmac where the planes are parked. They do have barricades set up so you get a little bit closer to the planes. I believe they were also handing out flyers so you have something for them to sign. One day I need to bring my Franklin Mint Blue Angel and Thunderbird diecast for each team to sign.
Took my three year old out for his first FRG experience today. We sat on the car on New Highway and waited for the Blues to come back from their Hudson River Flyover. He was so excited to hear the jets, watch 7 take off and see Ernie some in for a landing!! We went over to the main terminal and hooked up with my folks to watch 7 come back from his media flight.

Either Ernie or another c-130 was part of the flyby. I didn't get a close enough view from my office to be sure, but it was definitely a 130.
Great photos everyone.
Ok guys...I am tired and the airshow has yet to begin... This will probably be my only post for a while

Have a safe weekend guys!
Very cool, Fred! Sorry I couldn't stay. I'll be out early in the morning, and staying out late at night, going to be a long weekend!
Great shots so far everyone.
No A-10 this year?
Im reading on here about a $10 fee, does that apply to parking by the 56th or just by the museum?
Sorry, no A-10 for the show this year. The ACC stopped all demo teams except the F-22, and there aren't any stragglers attending the show that we know of. The $10 parking fee is for Jones Beach only. Parking around the airport is free. Admission to the museum varies for adult, seniors, veterans, children. A full breakout (and discounted tickets with advanced purchase) is available at the museum's web site, www.americanairpowermuseum.org
anyone have flight op times for today?
From a friend notify NYC just tweeted that two Raptors will be flying the Hudson River Corridor today between 9:30am and 10am
Hopefully we will get a pass at Republic
