Re: LGA Daily Report: JAN '08
Monday 9-15. Today sorta special visitor might not sound that special to some but I think so.
We see NW DC-9's here everyday and thanks NW for keeping the old birds flying.
But today we got a rare for LGA -51, N779NC to be exact, since repainted in the new NW scheme.
Been working at LGA since 1985 but this is probably only the 8th or 9th time I have seen a NW DC-9-51 at LGA.

Re: LGA Daily Report: JAN '08
Thur Sept 18th. DL/Shuttle America brought in the first I have seen E-175 which is also in the new DL scheme, arrived around 1450 from MDW replacing the scheduled E-170. DL seems to have started scheduling the E-175 on the LGA-MDW route on select flights on certain days. For example if anyone wants to try and shoot it for this Fri/Sat/Sun no flights show in my CRS at work. But on Monday 9-22 it show operating DL 5931 turning 5934 arriving 1418 departing 1455. It returns after dark at 2018 then departs Tues morning at 0755 as DL 5931. Then thats it till Thursday when the same schedule as Monday repeats and Friday morning repeats the Tues morning departure, then that appears to be it for now. These are very photo shy birds, only one shot on a.net and JP and neither are in service shots so here's a chance to get something new.
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6345890
And while I was typing the above the highlight of the day made a beautiful landing on 31, can't believe there are only two shots from the same day on a.net so far.

Sat Sept 20: A couple of nice smaller visitors today. The highlight was this Baby 9
She arrived from LWB (Greenbier,WV) Then ferried out nice and light to her home base of YIP. Found this nice shot of her from way back in 1966.
Also got to see this one arrive and depart, love the reg.
And finally something I have not seen at LGA in recent memory, 2 single engine piston aircraft departed about 30 mins apart, first a straight tail Beech Bonanza, followed by a Piper Saratago, pretty fun.
Cheers

That aircraft belongs to Honduras and was parked at SWF all this week so it is very possible.

02 October
even though i wasn't working i dropped by the office for a little bit today, just long enough to wastch as N836MA (Boeing's own BBJ i think) taxiied out to 31 for departure. since i had some time to kill before class i made my way to my school's tower and watched as N386AA rolled out on 22 following 2 Slowtations, that's an AAL 763. the scanner up in that tower started sounding too much like work so i ran off to relax in my truck in the parking lot. just before going back inside for class i watched a Baron (sounded more like a baron than Seneca anyway) take an intersection departure off of 22 and the crew of N115PD (PAPD's S-76) proving to me once more that they were having more fun than i was...

Re: LGA Daily Report: JAN '08
03 October
today was a long day, but interesting enough in that i was able to watch all this come and go:
N45LR- Leajer 45
N687QS- Citation Excel
N50FD- a Westwind registered to Sallie Mae
N357AA- AAL B763
N47EG- Faclon 900
N821AM- Global Express
N616KG- G-IV
N985JC- G-V(SP)
N85PS- S-76C
also watched as a CH-47 and two AH-64s landed over in the area of the E ramp. they flew in from the west, stayed for about two hours and left again westbound. on the way out the chinook was leading the pack until they disapeared from sight. a big HOO-AH to army aviation!
but the highlight of the day was a UC-35D serial 166374 that taxiied past me on the way to 31 for takeoff. that's basically a citation encore, in USMC paint.

N44EG- Falcon 900

Oct 10 - Allegiant DC-9 came in on EV31. Anyone know why?
I have photos that I need to edit, still on my camera.

Re: LGA Daily Report: JAN '08
Friday Oct 10th was fairly interesting at LGA. We got the nice looking Dept of Justice Dash-8 N713M.
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php? ... 740&nseq=0
We also got a pretty nice visitor. Allegiant MD87 N949MA
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6120909
Allegiant has made several LGA visits this year operating Gambling junket charters to Mississipi, they are ground and passenger handled at LGA by CO. Every time I have seen them it's been with the MD-87.
But the highlight of the day was a DL Shuttle MD88 emergency landing, here are my coments from Delta777LR's LGA spotting thread with photos, check them out.
The first DL MD88 go-around was a pretty big deal. He had an unsafe gear indication and in your shots was doing a gear down check fly-by of the Tower. Came back to land about 15 mins later with the main gear doors down, something I have never seen before. They drugg on the runway and watched the roll-out with binaculars but never saw sparks. They did a dead-stop on Runway 31 between the end of the runway and the intersection with 4-22. This closed 13-31 for about 15-20 mins and the MD-88 was surrounded by emergency and Port Ops vehicles. After about 10-15 mins the gear doors where retracted and she taxied to the gate under her own power. Probably the most excitement we have seen here in a while

Re: LGA Daily Report: JAN '08
Sun Oct 12th: While light wise a GREAT day at LGA only two notable visitors at least on my watch.
The USMC G-3 that AirTrafficController got a nice shot of Saturday made a nice loud departure off 13.
We also saw for the second time the first DL 757-232 to recieve winglets N648DL. This is NOT on of the ex TWA birds and is in the Wavey Gravey or Deltaflot scheme, it actually looks really sharpe and so far no photos on the two largest photo sites.

Re: LGA Daily Report: JAN '08
Fairly interesting day at LGA for Thursday 10-16. I did another double and I had brought my camcorder to work which is rare, in case the DC-3 departed but it's still here with MTC. But the camcorder got some good use anyway despite the crappy weather.
First around 1030 Trump departed 13 for SWF. Right after he departed we switched to 31 departures and not 10 mins after Trump here came Obama. My co-workers where amused how the 757 by-passed the 15 or so aircraft in the departure line and went right to the front for an immediate departure. Minutes later a Canadian registered Avanti departed and a few mins later the FAA's G-IV N1 Departed 31. Pretty unique aircraft as it has the same scheme as a USAF SAM Gulfstream but has a civilian registration and operated by the FAA.
Around 1600 Obama's 757 returned from somewhere landing on 22, I believe he has some fundraising dinner tonight in Manhattan.
The final guest of the day was a Corporate Beech 1900-D N1883M, something you don't see every day ( or year). The below photo has a desciption of it's operator.
Cheers

the AAL DC-3 finally left for EWR, she departed 4 and made a very, very shallow climb in the upwind.
1000L
obama's 757 departed a few minutes ago. no fanfare, just a nice steep climb...
1150L
ACA706 was operated today by a title-less A319.

Re: LGA Daily Report: JAN '08
Monday Oct 20: Back for another double and while reading this site I was distracted by VERY LOUD reverser deployment, and looked up to see Peter Nygard rolling out on 31. The 727 is parked at 5 Towers. While watching the 3-holer taxi to the ramp I then noticed a strange 757 over at Echo Parking. After a quick look through the binoculars the 75 turned out to be this old girl, number 14 off the line.
.
Checking the Star's schedule they play the Rangers tonight, the Devil's on Wed night and then the Islanders on Thursday evening. I wonder if the aircraft (might) reposition to FRG for departure Thursday night?
And the real highlight of the day (maybe week) just landed on 31, Italian Air Force A-319, MM62174, thanks to detective Celmer for getting the very hard to read reg, it was very small and they have 3, pretty sure that's the first appearance of one at LGA.
The Italian vistor departed LGA only about 90 mins after they arrived, not sure where they where going or where they came from?
Cheers
