NLovis: That is another good place to get shots of take offs and arrivals.
I'm already "enlisted" l. Not for nothing but $55 to me is a very small price to pay considering all they do for alot of us. Between opening their ramp to us all the time like memorial day weekend and labor day weekend and the History Under the Stars among others, it's the least we can do to support an organization that supports us so generously.
I guess with the show just about 1 month away, we wont be hearing any news about additional metal? Was really hoping for another jet or two, especially since this is supposed to be a tier 1 Navy event
I have info that can not be released yet... HOLD YOUR BREATH! You should be hearing NEW NEWS SOON!!!!
Don't Ask
holding and not asking. Thanks Fred!!!
Fred knows something? Must be big. Cant wait.
I think we should start a pool, $5 a guess on how many "PM's" Fred will receive that say, "You can tell me, you can trust me, I won't tell.... I promise"
F-18 Demo. Buster from AAM Ops has already mentioned that on ASB. Funding for the demo teams was approved when Congress signed the CR the night of the pending shutdown. NAVAIR is still holding off on releasing the sched to month by month.
(Unless of course Derf has some knowledge of a Retro painted Prowler that may make an appearence?. Heck I'll even settle for the retro Growler!)
 With the info that I have, can not release...sorry
I can not confirm nor deny any info - Fred
Confirmed
Chris B will have his P-51 at the AAM and he is bringing along the rest of the Warrior Demo Team (a gloss black L-39 with the Wounded Warrior logo on the tail).
That was not what I was hush hush about tho....stay tuned folks!

FYI- NAVCO has suspended the F-18 Demo schedule until further notice:

Well if we do get the F-18 demo it will be a Legacy Demo with the museums Corsair. Hopefully they can get everything sorted out before airshow.
Hopefully indeed. Cant wait to head out to the annual beach show. And by that I mean family related. We try to go every year.
I know what the big secret is and I ain't talking!!! Trust me, you all are going to really dig it!
Well it looks like if the Navy doesn't clear up the problem with the demo team we wont have an F-18 Demo this year.
After the last info on the F-18 demo, that may be about it.... There is also going to be a pair of static aircraft (not saying) and possible one other thing(s) but it that looks iffy at best. The F-18 demo is what had me drooling but I will not go into any further info on that
Well, even if the Navy doesn't clear the F-18 Demo team to do their regular demo,
there's good chance they'll still come up to do a Legacy flight with the Corsair at least,
because that's exactly what VFA-106 did last week at the Beaufort show with their
special BLUE Centennial F-18 and a Corsair
Oh and BTW, The Beale show had a surprise appearance by the B1-B last week also:biggrin:
Here's a video of it and it's last high speed with the roll at the end is just AWESOME !!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XK1F6zFcnfw
So keep your fingers crossed everyone !!!
Well, we better hope they send us the B1-B especially if the F-22 is still grounded for the JB air show
Unfortunately, there's bad news about the F-22 today :frown:.....
The U.S. Air Force has temporarily halted flights of the Lockheed Martin Corp. F-22 jet because of “recent reports of potential oxygen system malfunctions,” according to Air Combat Command.
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...d=aO96CZ4zS6k8
The pilot “scraped the underside of the aircraft on trees during a landing approach,” said the e-mail. “The pilot does not recall the incident and is being treated for physiological symptoms,”
What kind of trees are at 14,500 feet?
I know, I was just venting...... Please do not reply to it!
rev 5.5.2011-8:08PMEST
Revised: F-22 Demo
Due to the ACC issued stand down the F-22 Raptor demonstration is now listed as tentative.
More Information
FYI- The potential malfunctions with the Onboard Oxygen Generating System (OBOGS) may have caused the F-22 crash in the Fall of 2010 up in Alaska, that was responsible for the loss of Capt. Jeffery Haney of the 525th Fighter Squadron, and may involve more aircraft than the Raptors.
More info can be found on the defensenews.com website:

The stand-down already affected one airshow. It looks like ACC is being nice and giving out replacements.

This air show went from "having the potential to be great" to "ugh". With the F-18 not being confirmed, and now the F-22 being down, it looks like the A-10 will be the headliners.
Steve,
No new updates unfortunately. If the F-18 Demo was supposed to be at Smyrna show,
hopefully they'll still show up and do the Legacy flight at least if one was scheduled.
Let us know what happens this weekend down in Smyrna when you get back, OK !!
Safe travels !!
OK, there is lots of speculation here... I really do not care about what else when I was given the info that 2 static growlers are coming and 4 F-18 demo aircraft (2 in Centennial colors). I am waiting to hear about other fast movers but noting else solid yet.
I also have some arrival info but can not post it yet as it is not for public release....
HISTORY UNDER THE STARS IS GOING TO BE...... (for you Nick) EPIC

FYI- The Smyrna airshow DID have the F-18 Tacdemo and the Legacy Flight with the Corsair. Hope you guys get the F-18 Tacdemo too!
Thanks Steve for letting us know!
Here is a statement I received regarding the F-22
Quote:
As far as I know all F-22's in our fleet are grounded, this includes the one's performing at the air show this year. There is no ETA as to when they will be cleared for flight readiness.
