I remember the chilean 707 having that star on the tail, maybe they just left the rudder painted so it wouldn't be THAT ugly? GREY DEATH SCHEME  on the colombian 707 too? oh no If that's true only two latin VIP 707s still in a cool scheme would be the Paraguayan air force (maybe still in LAP colors) and the LADE ones (if those still fly). Not sure if those ever go to JFK or MIA, I guess they don't.Quote:

The Vietnam 777-200 should also be at JFK currently.
Vietnam arrived just after sunset

I watched the Russian IL-62 arrive just before sunset. PLEASE tell me someone got a pic. He landed on 31L.
I was out there, but did not make it out to 31L location in time. Flew right over my head.Quote:

This is probably at least my 10th shot of the SDM IL-62s

Well having seen the Polish Tupolev at ORD earlier in the week, I had my second random encounter with UNGA traffic yesterday afternoon while listening to Channel 9 on United back to LaGuardia, I heard "Papa Alpha Lima Zero Zero One" call in which was apparently headed back to Manila via SFO. So if anyone knows the answer, I am curious why they didn't use the callsign "Philippine One," also wonder if the aircraft used is a standard PAL A340 from the regular fleet or a VIP configuration. Exterior shots posted here make it look like a regular aircraft but I know some countries (e.g. Qatar) have VIP aircraft painted in livery of the national airline.
Aside from that, great work on the photos guys, I can tell some of you really went to great lengths to shoot these rare birds and the effort is much appreciated by this non-photographer!
Cameroon 763 arrived at JFK on Sat afternoon. I assume it will take its passengers home at night.

In addition to Cameroon Airlines' presence at JFK, the following visitors also made a visit today:
Private BBJ (operating for the government of Abu Dhabi, I believe)
Qatar Airways A330-200
Turkey Government A319
:D
Hi folks,
Spurred on by the success of Tuesday chasing UN related aircraft, I'm heading out in about 6 hours time to do the same on Sunday.
I see on redoneaviation.com that the Cameroon has gone, and the Phillipine 340 left SWF. Hopefully, there is still enough of interest to make it all worthwhile!
All the best
Geoff
IIRC the Abu Dhabi BBJs are actually from RoyalJet, a joint venture of Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight and Abu Dhabi Aviation Company and as such, are unique in that they are government aircraft you can actually charter (for enough $$ of course). According to Wikipedia, Royal Jet has the largest fleet of BBJs in the world (5).

I saw Friday's IL-62 depart from Andrews. Senga, it was RA-86468, yes? The pic is just a little too small to tell. Saturday's Royaljet went on to IAD.
MEA A330-200 is due into JFK around 2:43pm from Beirut.
Mathew,
Yes that is the reg.

I hope this doesn't get buried on here, but I just wanted to say thanks to all I hung out with and mooched off of during my recent visits. I've wanted a UN weekend like that for years (literally) and I wouldnt have been possible w/out Phil, Art, Mel, and Tom especially.
Just got done editing them...SP, DC8, BBJ's galore...Awesome!
Thanks!

Great shots everyone!
It was great to go with the HUGE group we had on Sunday(23), and can't wait to do this again next year.
