FYI .... Air China CA15 A330 arrived back at JFK this morning around 5:30am. There is a 763 that looks like it may be inbound for JFK. She was passing through Nova Scotia around the same time. Happy hunting!
Plenty of great shots from UN week 2014 from everyone...... A couple of UN flights stopped in at Boston as well:

I'm blown away by the shots this year. I feel like this is one of the best years we've had in a while....very impressed with the variety and schemes even as older planes get phased out.
Great work, guys.
A few quick edits from SWF yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, an area that was wide open last year right next to the fuel farm is now gated off. So there isn't much that has an unobstructed view now.
Spanish Air Force A310 and Falcon 900 were parked right next to each other at the entrance to the terminal area:

https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3894/...6256a458_z.jpg
Also parked back there was Royal Air Maroc (CN-RNT, obstructed view), and this Libyan Falcon 900 (Thanks Mateo!):

Morocco also brought a C-130, parked on the other side of the passenger terminal:
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3845/...ee250ab1_z.jpg
Next to the C-130 was the South African 727 charter. The Congo 707, Iraq 737, and Chad 777 were all parked in that area with obstructed views:
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3904/...18e2b79d_z.jpg
The Belarus TU-154M was sitting just inside one of the gates to the GA ramp. Many thanks to the security guard who had no problems with me taking a picture.

The Gambia IL-62 was over there too, behind a couple NYSP helicopters:

Finally, you never know what's going to show up at SWF at any given time. I always have the scanner on when I'm there, so when I heard "<weird callsign, sounded like "Kuwaiti"> heavy, cleared for the option," i stopped what I was doing and made a beeline for a shot of the runway. At first I thought it was the State of Kuwait A340-500 that parked up there last year, but it was much better than that:

The Iraqi 77L was pretty visible but with lots of obstructions. The UAE 787 is parked right behind the Atlantic Aviation building, only the nose was visible. Niger was right next to it, out in the open but behind a tank. Several other BBJs were parked back by the fuel farm, but completely obstructed.
Thanks for sharing. Great job! Curious if you had to show any kind of credentials or IDs up at Stewart?
JFK using 13L now approach. Saw a few interesting sights from my house. PIA 2 about 1220, and what looked like a USAF military a few minutes before and several others of interest. Had no binoculars and Flight Aware doesn't show military. Aircraft all backlit. Got the A388s': SIA, KAL and UAE as well.
Awesome shots so far guys! Senga, the Iraq 772 shots are great, nice light.
Tarom A310 (YR-LCB) parked at Atlantic (with a Dow CRJ taxing in).
Re-positioned from EWR yesterday evening as ROT8535.

Nice to see a passenger A310 still active.
Nice catch! Funny how close the tail logo design is to LOT Polish.
Tarom A310. Unreal.
Rich .... great shots of the UN visitors up there. Psst! Send them this way!
Yeah i was wondering also!! Its been a long time since I've been up there but got stopped once by the MPs for taking pics of some Medevac Hueys!! Guy called it in, saw my kids and they let me slide!!
NYSPD have a base at Stewart.
Love the Egyptian C-130 shot and pretty cool that people got shots of AF1 AND AF2 same day (?). sweet!!
Great great selection of pictures all and excellent coverage!! And I guess hassle free for the most part? Dont see and ranting posts in Spotter Blotter :eek:
Does anyone know where N767KS came from? It arrived on 22L on the 21st

Ben, the Falcon is the Libyan 5A-DCN.
Other UN seen today:
PHL
Tarom 310 YR-LCB
ILG
Namibia F7X V5-GON
the Bolivian F900 was also known to be present, but I missed it :(
BWI
Belgium F900 CD-01
Egypt C-130s 1292 and 1271
Just had the Mauritania BBJ pass overhead, sounded much louder than a 737 but per FR24 that's what it was! Looks to be heading for an Atlantic crossing, must have left as a live flight from SWF.
Hi CathayA340,
Yea its ICAO/IATA FTTJ/NDJ I would think the flight originated somewhere in Chad. I don't know where though. They have a VIP MD-87 that came to the UNGA a few years back but hasn't been back since.

Back at home at last...
Had a great time spotting around JFK with all the local (and not so local) photographers. My score for the UN traffic was quite good, while I missed some good ones due to being ill placed or too late for it. Nevermind, maybe next year. Being my first ever visit to JFK, regular traffic was also of interest and I managed to get quite decent photos on this subjects too.
My personal highlights:

Thanks for the company at Panera, the Mounds, etc .. Nice to know you all, see you soon guys!
Cheers
I responded to Speedbird1 privately, but since it seems like several people want to know...
I have never been hassled at SWF, even when I have parked myself on the side of the road for several hours waiting on a departure. Lots of locals come out to watch the planes up there, and if I run into one, I always chat them up. Usually they learn something and it makes them less suspicious of me. The airport is far less militarized now than it used to be, so MP's aren't really a concern as long as you stay away from the ANGB area. I actually feel more comfortable spotting on-property there than I do spotting from the few off-airport spots there are.
For that TU-154 shot, I felt it was best to approach the guard in the shack instead of just walking up to the gate and grabbing my shots. He was totally cool with it.
In terms of being hassled, Saturday morning was rough. After that, things seemed to settle down.
To add on to what Ben shared.
I have been shooting SWF since 2002. Its actually the airport I enjoy visiting the most in the area. I have flown myself in there many times and also have shot there countless times over the years. Its small airport with a laid back relatively low level of hostility and aggression towards people watching/ photographing planes. SWF is a fun airport to shoot at.
My general "Mantra" carries over. Don't make a spectacle out of ones self, for an out-of-towner behave accordingly, respect Police AND Security (Most importantly yourself). Please consider a few of us (I think) have been shooting there for many years well before and will even after while others come and go.

Columbian Govt BBJ FAC0001 just landed at LGA. First UN foreign vistor I have seen this year here.
Cheers
LGA777
Hi Ron,
Before Colombia got the BBJ do you ever recall seeing the FAC 707-300 or the F-28 they have fly into LGA in years past?
Senga
Senga saw the F-28 here once in the mid 1990's or so not able to get a photo. The 767 has been here once or twice and I think this was my third or 4th time seeing the BBJ including 1 arrival right in the middle of Kids Day a few years ago.
Totally agree. That one time I was stopped was because I was taking pics through the fence by the south end where at that time they had a hangar for the evac copters!! That was back in the 90s.
I loved sitting up on the road that parallels the runways and watching the aircraft, especially the C-5s, land and depart!!
Does anyone have any info on when President Rouhani is leaving New York? If possible I'd like to try and get a shot of his A340 leaving Andrews. Thanks to all the NYCAviation guys I met up with last Saturday (Jason, Ben, William) for helping me out. A rough incident with PAPD and the fact that I couldn't find a single hotel room on all of Long Island sent me home for the night, but I will hopefully be back up soon!
Ron,
Ah I see. yea I never got the FAC B703 or the FK28. That BBJ came on line before I had a chance :(
Senga
Colombia always uses LGA for some reason. From looking at the trackers, an A332 (probably Turkey) departed JFK this morning, and the Ceiba 772L just departed EWR (1200L), but it looks to be heading south. It's a semi-frequent IAD visitor, so one to watch. [EDIT: Nope, not IAD - FL360 over Delaware. Wouldn't be surprised if this one wound up in either MIA or HAV]
In which tracker can that Ceiba be tracked? Don't see the flight in the ones i'm familiar with.
Anyone know when the Gambia left?
I stopped by Dover AFB yesterday to catch what remained of the UN flights.
FAP 735 was all that was left.

Two close arrivals of exotic C-130s.
Turkey AF.
https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2945/...8f2bbc33_c.jpg
Eygpt AF.
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3876/...a2e7aa77_c.jpg
(Although probably neither had to do with the UN.)
Then I pulled a Senga to catch this rare Indian gem.
Re-positioning from JFK as AIC1345.
