I'm pretty sore about how this last one turned out. He got off as early as a CRJ on a ferry flight and began his left bank almost immediately. I had walked as far east as I could on the HoBe sands to get it in what should have been great light. As it turned out, they of course went directly over my head. So this will have to do.

That Yemen is awesome for a 1/60 handheld. I was over by the terminals when it arrived, and it was near darkness. Did you try to snag the Dreamlifter that arrived a few planes after Yemenia?

Just checked the President's Schedule and its saying he is leaving out of JFK at 1:25pm. What direction will they be taking off? Runway 31L over the bay and out past Rockaway or 13R going out over Nassau? Trying to get a great photo of SAM29...

Not sure on the AF1 departure. Currently using only the 22s, but my gut is telling me 31L. We'll see when the time comes.

Although it didn't land at JFK, I'm sure it has something to do with UN week.
At 18:00, Planefinder and Flight Radar 24 show an aircraft, call sign GOTO FMS approaching JFK from thw SE at 25,000, then turning SW as it reached just south of JFK. Plug in the reg 164386 at Airliners.net and you can see the aircraft. I also saw it with a pair of binoculars.
No mystery ..this is a NAVY electronic warfare aircraft and could have been overhead :-) We spotted an F-22 and an KC-10 way way up overhead... typical for UN Week in NY
The TACAMOs are in the air most days all up and down the East Coast. They're based out of Pax, and do lots of circling over Virginia, Maryland, the Mid-Atlantic, and so on.
With the exception of Argentina and Brazil, has anyone seen any of the South Americans? The Venezuela 319, Colombia BBJ, Ecuador 727, Chile 767, Peru 735, and even a Suriname 733 are all pretty regular visitors, but I haven't seen any of them reported so far.
So can we expect a lot of action again tomorrow?
I did not witness any southerners from Wednesday to Sunday and I only missed Saturday early morning :tongue:
