I believe it was for Memorial service for those five teens who were killed in that tragedy the other night.

Since the Blue Angels are doing the flyover for the Naval Academy graduation at 10 am Friday morning, what time would they depart Republic?
Kn
If you are going to sacrifice a vacation day I would pick Friday since you are pretty much guaranteed to see them fly at least twice.
Check out http://nyasinfo.com for more details.

Blue Angel Selfie!!!! Great!!
Hey guys, So I plan to be out Friday... But I was wondering if we can get a Group chat going. Something either through group texts or apps like "Groupme" so everybody can be informed by everybody. Therefor, giving those in the chat first hand info rather than having to check NYCAVIATION every 15 minutes or so for updates. Tell me if you would be interested and we'll see if we can get something going. Happy air show week.
I was down near Captree this afternoon, and saw Sean Tucker and his photo plane making some passes.

Newsday has a cool air-to-air photo of Tucker flying over the Jones Beach Tower in his Oracle Extra 300 in today's paper.
You can even see the new picnic area they've built with the 2 large tents where the old JB restaurant used to be.

Which runway do the Blues Angels use to land?

14/32
Thinking of heading down to Republic, still not eta for #7 other than sometime this afternoon?
just got back from FRG. Tucker and Klatt (Screamin’ Sasquatch) were both warming up their planes and eventually took off within minutes of each other. I assume they are heading to JB to practice.
The TFR for Annapolis MD is from 1:00pm to 3:00pm so I would figure 7 coming in after 3:00pm
What to do? Weather this weekend isn't promising: http://www.weather.com/weather/5-day...+NY+11735:4:US
We never mention the "W" word. It's bad luck!
One hour ETA for BA #7
B-17 Yankee Lady has arrived.
Crews are on Runway 14 putting the arresting cable in place
Just heard #7 fly over Old Bethpage but couldn't see it.
BA 7 has arrived
BA #7 Flew Low over my Copiague Sunrise Hwy Office from the South toward FRG @ Around 4:28p.
I saw it circle in the Distance before touching down @ FRG.
Did it Do a Low pass Flyover FRG Before landing? Any photos? ;-)
He did a carrier break the landed on 14.
Tested the the arresting gear and parked at the main terminal.
No helicopters from us at JB. Enjoy the 130 and PJ jump.
Thanks for the info Nick !
WABC-TV reporter NJ Burkett announced on his Facebook page that on Friday morning he will be flying with a Blue Angel. He is getting there at 7:45 but doesnt believe his flight is until 9AM. Newscopter 7 will be there to help film. I guess they will do his flight before they leave for US Naval academy.
#7 is here

BA #7 won't be going to the Flyover in Maryland. It's just a flyover and no narration is required. He will be doing media flights during the day.
Here is a link to News 12's Elizabeth Hashagen's media flight two years ago, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Np2vxJDvVl4
The fly over for the Blue Angels at the graduation is scheduled for 10:04AM Friday in Maryland, so look for them to depart around 9:00AM
They should return before 11:00AM, refuel and go up for practice Friday afternoon.
Also if they follow their usual show routine they will fly a practice demo sometime Thursday after they arrive
Nice Moose!

Yup they got smart. It is $8 instead of $10 though.
Great shots everyone, especially considering the poor lighting conditions this afternoon.
