They are not spotter friendly. If you go over you will most likely get chased away by airport police.

You are correct about ISP. Likely the F-22 won't be anywhere that can be easily seen once it's on the ground anyway. If they do the same as the last time we had a Raptor here, he will do a fly over at FRG after finishing down at the beach.

Thanks guys. Any info for scanner frequencies?

Actually, last time it was at ISP I was able to get some shots of it very easily .. now the results sucked because it was at dawn and misty, but I was able to just stop, stand on my truck and shoot over the fence, all while still on public streets. It was right near the firehouse at the time, and I remember something being under construction (maybe the new tower?).
Thanks Ken! You rock!
Are the A-10s going to be there this year? Haven't seen them on any list of performers but have seen there pictures in ads for the show
Haven't heard whether or not there will be any A-10s at FRG, but there will not be a demo. The ACC stopped all demo teams except the F-22 for 2012.
As of now it seems pretty unlikely we'll get an A-10, but it's airshow week and I really would put anything past it, even a TU-144 (this one was for you Steve).
Also Jon Huertas who stars in Castle and was in numerous other TV shows will be taking a media flight with the Blue Angels. You can read more about it here: http://www.wetpaint.com/castle/artic...kend-exclusive
Edit - Also it looks like the AAM will be doing airshow warm ups on tomorrow and Sunday with their L-39 and T-6.
I was out at the museum today and they said as of today there are no A-10's coming in for display this year. They are obviously disappointed because of the history of the plane.
Very excited for air show week!
Did the Rhode island NG aircraft come in today? I saw workers using a crane today for the arresting cables.
BTw this was cool. Stopped by the Terminal to use the "facilities" and parked in the lot. Walking to the building I thought how QUIET it was. Nothing was flying at the time and it was like being
in the country. Then I thought in less than a week this airport will be rocking with ALL types of aircraft and hordes of people!! Like the quiet, like the NOIZE!!!
BTW, the Blues used their C-130 "Ernie" at Andrews, so expect it to be used at Jones Beach also.
As of 5:15pm no eta for BA 7 as per Republic Ops
Right now they are using 14 and 19
Blue Angel 7 is in the air, 30 min eta to KFRG as os 5:30pm
Blue Angel 7 is in the air, 30 min eta to KFRG as of 5:30pm
Looks like a 14 landing and he will be testing the arresting gear
Looks like there 30 min eta is a little off
7 is inbound for 14
Blue Angel 7 has arrived.
Man i should have hung around the museum alittle longer.
For you rotorheads, not so sure we'll have any HH-60's for yas. Between phase dock and deployment its gonna be tough to free up the assets. I'll be there on my own time Sunday watching the sights.
Fred, thanks for that BA 7 Play by Play. Any idea when the rest of the team will arrive on Mon. 05/21 at KFRG. Thanks. I plan to go there around 1715.
Dabbey looks like between 1300 and 1400 tomorrow.
Lots of fun today.

As for the arrival times tomorrow, the signs around the airport just say Blue Angels arrive Monday afternoon.
Rumour has it one or two Snowbirds around 11:00AM and that the Blue Angels may come up earlier or later depending on the weather forcast as mid afternoon is supposed to be the worst weather of the day.
Great shots guys on 7's arrival, I was speaking with the pilot yesterday at Andrews, very nice guy. Also, the F22 was incredible at Andrews, so we should expect nothing less at Jones Beach. Here is one of the shots that I took through the fence tonight at Republic:

The threatening clouds make for excellent backdrops.
Weather permitting...
Snowbirds#10-11 Arrive: 11:30AM-12PM
Blue Angels#1-6: 1PM-2PM
Fat Albert (Ernie): 3PM-4PM
To bad the weather is awful today
I too have had the scanner running for about 90 minutes now and it is very quiet at KFRG this afternoon. I can't / don't want to wait out in the rain for them, but when they announce that they are clear to land, I will run out and snap a few shots of them flying over, provided that they use runway 14.
just heard the FRG tower try and contact Blue Angel #3
