Travolta's 707 (N707JT) should be departing any minute now now for IAD. Arrival shots to come shortly (hopefully). :D

Delta airlines to pull SWF service March 1, 2009. Just found out today.
Continental to begin service April 1, 2009 to Las Vegas, Houston, and Orlando.
Anthony
Interesting route choices by Continental. I don't see any of them working unfortunately.
I had a feeling it was a matter of time after AirTran left that Delta would do the same.
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.Quote:

Delta Airlines has in fact discontinued reservations between Atlanta and Newburgh, NY. Delta Airlines Subsidiary Northwest Airlink will continue to operate daily service between Newburgh, NY and Detroit.Quote:

Maybe if Mesaba comes, we will get flights to Minneapolis, which woul be great.
Wow... That only leaves US Airways Express and Jet Blue!
Hopefully Continental will have some success at the airport and this leaves plenty of room for Jet Blue to expand if they feel it will be profitable.
I have seen no indication to confirm ahazzard's news regarding Continental Airlines launching daily SWF service. I will look further, however, into Northwest's alleged pullout.Quote:

There is also no indication according to nwa.com's reservations system and APGDat that they are pulling out of Newburgh anytime soon.
Dear JetBlueAirways Fan,
I shouldnt have to have my news confirmed, nor do I want it to be. I do know that CO is coming in. Gates 3 and 4 are prepped for them. Co will be using 737's for their 3 routes. They are slated to begin in April. I work for one of the airlines there presently and this is what WE know. We have seen Co's ramp crews out there getting everything set. Fresh paint, and raised jetways are evident.
Enjoy the day,
Anthony

Icelandair Cargo 757-200 from KEF
Delta has actually rescinded their pull out from SWF. Instead, they will cut back to one daily flight between Newburgh, NY and Atlanta, GA.
Apparently Delta will not be discontinuing flights to SWF and was never planning on it.

Kuwait A320 from LTN
Yes, Delta took back their decision to discontinue flights. They will remain at 1. Their original decision was to pull out entirely.
Is NW still planning on staying?
Yes
It has been a while but tonight we got a noteworthy diversion from JFK:
5/14
AF8 772 from CDG.
7/27
Southwest 737-700 from MCI x 2
7/29
Continental 757-200 from BCN
Continental 757-200 from CDG x2
Continental 757-200 from LHR
Continental 767-200 from AMS
SAS A330-300 from CPH
Kalitta Air 747-200 from LGG
First day this summer we've gotten this many international diversions. I noticed the other day there were quite a few domestic diversions from LGA and JFK but nothing international.
Sunday's storms hit around 6:30pm, a little bit late to affect the flights from Europe. Today's were right in the middle of transatlantic rush hour.Quote:

Lufthansa 747-400 from FRA, destined for EWR.
Cancidas, I haven't been in the area much this week but I'll certainly keep my eye out for her.
A (non-spotter) friend who lives within two minutes informed me that "a big white jumbo jet just flew out of Stewart!". Also reported on FlightAware was SAS903 (A333) en route to EWR from Arlanda.Quote:

I live ten minutes away from SWF and didn't realize there was a daily report thread. Anyone who is interested in a meet up (although spots are limited) send me a PM!
i've only seen the flight plans go through SWF twice. flightaware emails me the flight plans as they go in. if you have the same possibility i suggest doing it. for a rare airplane that's based out of LAX this is a long way from home.Quote:

An all white MD-80 arrived around 2:05pm this afternoon. I figure the aircraft is probably an ex-Alaska Air operating a prisoner transfer flight.
10/09 - While cruising by the Friday setup for the WWII aircraft showcase around 3pm, Delta 738 in wavy gravy colors was parked adjacent to the "main" tarmac entrance in the back. No activity, at a standstill. For those interested the WWII showcase had a B-17G and B-24J on display and tour, with a C130 also included for kicks.
10/12 - Waiting for parents arrival from ATL when N889NC, a BBJ owned (according to Flightaware) by Wells Fargo Bank Northwest NA Trustee, touches down at 1515. Seems this one has been far and wide from ZRH to PEK.
That's actually News Corp's plane, I guess Wells Fargo holds the loan. I know Rupert Murdoch was in Beijing this past week, maybe he was returning from there.Quote:

There has not been any significant movements at the airport in the past few months (that I am aware of) but there has been a few ATI DC-8 horse charters and yesterday a Southwest 737-700 and Miami Air 737-400 charter.
12/28/09 approx 4:55pm driving home on I-84 I saw an all white B747-400 departing SWF in a very steep departure climb... looked it up on flight aware, no B747 listed, anyone have any info?
Its the UAE's 744.
Ahhhh from I-84 I saw what looked like a green white and red flag on the vertical stabilizer, I guess I wasnt wrong after all! Any idea why it was in town?
It's an annual trip for those boys. I'm not sure why but it is. Maybe shopping in the "cheap" United States?

If anyone is interested, there is a Ryan 767 due in around 2:00pm from RFD. There should also be the State of Kuwait A320, 9K-AKD, parked somewhere since I haven't seen it leave on Flightaware. It arrived from YVR a few days ago.
