Re: B707 Over My House
I heard Congo 707 came in as well (this is not first hand information); If so, thats three 707s so far, without Brazil or Romania accounting for any of them. Amazing.

I'd imagine he's up at SWF now. Unfortunately they park her in a very hard to shoot spot with the Galaxies.

There is another TFR for Wednesday afternoon, same as today, I assume that is when GWB is leaving town.

Re: United Nations General Assembly 2007
There is an Ethiopian Airlines flight from ADD via STN due into EWR tomorrow around 3:05. I imagine a 767-300 or even their 200!
There should also be a Kazakhstan 767-200 heading up to SWF today or tomorrow.

Re: United Nations General Assembly 2007
Question for you all: is that Firestone spot on the path to 31R? The planes look more side-on (nicer) than from Costco to me.
I saw N777AS parked at MCO yesturday as well. Believe it or not I'm not interested in this plane. Hopefully some of these guys in airline livery will head down to FL lol. Maybe AhmedineJihad will like to see Disney? Iran SP, Turkemenistan and Cameroon 76, Afriqiyah A342, nice!
Really sad that the chilean 707 looks ugly in that gray. It used to have a livery somewhat reminiscent of the old BOAC scheme when I saw it in MIA years ago.

Re: United Nations General Assembly Arrivals
> And the cool motorcades dashing around Manhattan<
So I decided to walk down to the Waldorf after work just to check out the craziness. Around 4:25 from my
building I saw Aviation 12/14 flying south low over the QBB. When I hit the streets I could hear them circling
overhead. I walked up to 3rd Avenue and saw that it was empty and PD had the roadblocks set up down
on 50 Street. POTUS was on the move and so was I. But just as I arrived they opened up 3rd Avenue and
began letting traffic (vehicle and pedestrian) to move. Yet the PD cars used for the roadblock were still parked
and now Aviation 23 (N23FH) the "unmarked" ship was still circling overhead so I figured it was probably just a
delay. #23 flew at 1000 or below and sure enough about 10 minutes later the roadblocks went into place and #23
dropped to almost rooftop level. Minutes later the presidential motorcade swept past heading to the Waldorf.
Working in Manhattan for over 30 years I've seen many a motorcade but not in a long time and it is always a very
cool thing to witness. After they opened the streets I made my way up to Park and 50th street across from the
Waldorf. # 23 was still circling and it was totally crazy with PD and USSS EVERYWHERE!! Organized chaos I guess
you can call it. Finally at 5:10 I saw #23 put his nose down and head toward the river. I put my head up and began
my trek to Penn station. "Move along. Nothing more to see here" LOL!!
BTW there was a military Hummer jeep parked by the church on 50/Park that had a number of antennae coming out of
it including one that was about two stories high and looked like a Xmas ornament on top. Pretty wild looking.

Re: United Nations General Assembly 2007
Mayi757,.
Yes the FAC is a disappointment, SO many of the South american Air Forces are painting theor beautiful VIP 707s into that GREY DEATH SCHEME. The latest casualy has been the Columbian 707-300. It looks like like the Chilie now accept a different sliver of color on the tail.

Re: United Nations General Assembly 2007
As njgtr82 says the Polish TU154 was at ORD this morning, I was rather surprised to see it when I arrived (early!) from LGA. Sorry no camera on hand, it was hazy anyway and I;m a lousy photographer, but anyone know why they're here? Is it because of the big Polish community in Chicago? Are they going to Ditka's for a Polish "sassige" (for those old enough to remember the SNL bit)? Anyway great thread, great pics guys!

Re: United Nations General Assembly 2007
Hi folks,
I spent yesterday out at Stewart, and then JFK to catch some of the UN aircraft. Rather pleased with this shot of the Bolivian 737!!
http://photosbygeoff.fotopic.net/p45401265.html
I hear the Iranian SP, A Spanish A310 and a couple of others went to Westover (CEF) Ma. Wish I had known that at 9am yesterday, could have made the detour as I need the SP!!
Thanks also to Phil for the heads up text about the Viet Triple! I was getting ready to leave when Phil told me it had just taken off. Thanks also to John at Verizon who suggested a place where I might be able to get a photo!! Not the greatest shot but for the record:

All the best

Re: United Nations General Assembly 2007
Now the question about the departure of these VIP aircrafts. Based on your experience, would they leave SWF at roughly the same day, and similarly from JFK? I want to decide where to spend time to catch their departure.
-
Re: United Nations General Assembly 2007
I dont know, I think it depends on how much shopping they have to do, and which friends in exile they have to visit!

SAM 29000 @ JFK
Just heard SAM 29000 check in on the live ATC feed landing at JFK. Not sure when she is leaving, but figured I'd give a heads up in case anyone wanted to get a pic of her.
-
Re: SAM 29000 @ JFK
Marine 1 with a similar chopper, 2 gunships and 2 NYPD choppers were just over Jamaica Bay.
-
Re: SAM 29000 @ JFK
They are hanging out over there. AF1 Will be moving momentairaly right now they are trying to get all the GA action around the airport right now out to Sandy Hook to hold and clear the North bounds out as well. They said it is VIP but that probably means AF1 Duh. PD15 just called in to hang out around HoBe for now as I type as well. Anyone out there to see AF1 go. I am sure he is going to turn way before he crosses over Long Beach if they shoot him off of the 13's.
