He's very wrong. This is a highly publicized event.Quote:

Any idea which runways the Airbus A380 might come in on? i really want to be there to catch it coming in.
I'll let you know Monday morning :wink:Quote:

Hey, does the A-380 fit in the big EZ-Bake Oven de-icing shed?
Sorry, I don't believe that some random F/O at United knows more than the rest of the world when it comes to the A-380 trip to the US.Quote:

I'll ignore the personal attacks in your post - I've promised Phil in the past that I wouldn't reply to them, so I'll give you a pass on that...but you might do well to lighten up a little. There are many people on this board with more experience and connections then you.Quote:

Two A380s will fly into two US destinations on 19th March, allowing both the East and West Coasts of North America to simultaneously welcome the world's largest commercial airliner, which is also the most technically advanced and environmentally friendly civil aircraft in the skies.
A380 development aircraft MSN7 will fly some 500 passengers to John F. Simultaneously, A380 test aircraft MSN1 will land at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as part of an airport compatibility trial, which will be performed on the spot with the assistance of Qantas Airways.
The National Weather Service is still showing mostly sunny, high of 41 for Monday. Its weird how most of the weather sites are showing rain, but the National Weather Service shows it being mostly sunny.Quote:

Just out of curiosity, if the weather does suck on Monday is anyone up for a day-trip to IAD Sunday the 25th when it's supposed to land there? Seats are still $50 each way on JetBlue...that is, if they can get you there and back in one-day. LOL!
Those glasses must be defective, because now the National Weather Service is showing chance of rain and snow on Monday. :(Quote:

I'm seeing "chance of showers after 2pm", but it's definitely an improvement from "showers noon-3pm". If the weather promises to be good enough, my girlfriend might come along for it too.Quote:

Guys, let's talk runways.
If they are landing on the 31, will it come on left or right?
If they arelanding on the 4s, either are ok from Bayswater I assume.
If they are landing on the 22s, which one and where to shoot from at noon? Mounds still I assume.
I might be heading there after school, but do you guys think it will be worth it? The only way I'd be able to see it would be to take the airtrain around in hopes of seeing her. Do you guys think thats worth it?
I think our job just got easier.Quote:

Can anyone confirm that info?
I would hope JFK ops and Airbus would take that advice and only consider 22L/4R, but who knows...
Will she park at Terminal One or at Terminal 4 ? She is due to land tomorrow, March 19 between 12:30 and 13:00 but could be delayed if she must use a specific runway assignment.
I would be at North Woodmere Park for a 22 arrival early in the day. You probably won't get good sun from the Mounds. I was out there this morning - got some nice shots of a C-17 coming in on 22R.Quote:

So at 9:30 a.m., one of two inaugural U.S. test flights is scheduled to touch down at LAX from Toulouse, about the same time a second aircraft will land at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport from Frankfurt, Germany.
22L works for me. Less hassle at North Woodmere Park anyway.
The thing that will suck is that if we are at N. Woodmere, and they decide to send him to 31L or 31R we're sunk. I'll check back later today to see where the crew plans on being.
Just checked NOAA for JFK Terminal Forecast

Winds 240 @ 9 kts...although 9 knots is nothing too significant, it would be nice for the aircraft to have a basic headwind. :) Maybe 22L will happen.
I can tell you all are geeked for this! Do me a favor and take a pic to show how many people are there waiting for it to arrive.
I think that can be arranged.Quote:

Anyone coming from NYC that could possibly do a pick-up somewhere at a subway station?
Whoops sorry about that. I forgot about thta little bit of information about Michigan.
Maybe it will make a tech stop off at GRR?

Does anyone know the A380's flight path for tomorrow? More specifically, will it be flying over Northeastern Pennsylvania? I'd love to go to NYC tomorrow to see it, but I can't because of school
where do you go to school??.. one of my boys goes to school in michigan and flys into GRR??
Sounds like a pretty lame excuse to me :DQuote:

Hi folks,
On my way down from Rhode Island to catch this historic event!
Anyone know which runway is the most likely to be used? Which viewing point I should make my way to for the better photos?
Geoff
On Tuesday the A380 is supposed to fly to Chicago! Quite possibly it may fly over your area enroute to/from ORD!!Quote:
