Gorgeous shots, Manny! Good thing she was heavy. I don't think I've ever seen an Evergreen give a decent bank from 31L.
Thanks Gordon... or any other cargo for that matter LOL. It seems the Cargo planes have extra power, or passenger flights are heavier or whatever. FedEx is known for such early turns, I will be giving up on them soon... You can only count on the foreign heavies (passenger) to bank late but they also never bank hard. For me the best banks and locations have been British Air 747s and Delta 747s for the quads. South African sometimes does well. Would love to see a daylight departure of an A380 from 31L
Saw an MD-11F from Cargo Italia yesterday from the Q-10 bus. The registration was EI-EMS. Also saw AFR A388, reg. F-HPJA , and the Emirates A388 landed on Rwy 31L. I saw a Jet Blue with what appears to be a soccer play painted on the fuselage and the word "Real"; got no tail #.
That Cargoitalia keeps messing with me. Such an irregular schedule and I always miss it :-(
Got word that there's a UA Boeing 747 at T7 now.
there was a UA 777 at JFK yesterdday http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL9791
It then flew JFK-SFO http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL9792
just left as UA9790 http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL9790
Additionally, there was a United 744 at JFK yesterday. She was in the grey whale scheme. That was a refreshing sight to see indeed. I texted a few people about it but by the time I saw it it was too late to take a pic and after the week we have had at JFK I'm enjoying every second that I dont see an airplane unless it is over my house.
Here is the UA 747-400...departuring off 31L

Another special arrival on 12/29 and departure on 12/30 was Titan Airways (I got lucky with both)

A Delta 767-200 with winglets (N177DL) is parked by the cargo area.
Air Europa A330 en route to JFK. 30 min out.

Saudi MD-11 due JFK 1651L.
Saudi MD-11 AND 747-SP on the ground at JFK. MD-11 at B-66 and the SP is at AA hanger 11
Also a Saudi 757-200 visited JFK today. Arrived around 14:30 local time.
any word when is SP departure ??
The MD-11 was being deiced this afternoon, SP is still covered in snow... Waited until 4:30 and the MD-11 never left. There is also the 757 over by the El-Al cargo area but it is hard to get a clear view... nose is blocked no matter how hard you try even from the Iceland Air area...
Finnair MD-11 SUPPOSEDLY never left Helsinki and then suddenly showed up on Flightaware as landed... I never saw it or heard it land... weird. If indeed it was very late, maybe just maybe I get a shot at it leaving tomorrow morning :-) One can dream LOL.
Im planning to go out tomorrow for whole day long, hope tocatch something good.... maybe SP :)
Chris, unless they work on it overnight QUICK and then leave before dawn, you should be able to catch it. At least it was sitting there still covered in snow and no sign of APU or DeIcing around 4:30pm EST
Here are my two shots (I couldn't do any better than this). Forget about the 757, I saw it but not do-able!

I got mine from the ramp to the cargo areas as it cleared the fence a bit

The SP was impossible without a fence in the way... I tried your spot as well but the AF got fooled by the fence enough to make it soft :-(

N777AS Mid East Jet just landed. Came from Pease AFB
The rest of the Saudis left last night - 3 Triples, the MD-11, the SP, and the 757. 777AS is still kicking around. And how much per gallon are we paying now?
Interestingly I was down to 10 miles on my tank so I filled up as I exited the airport at $3.50 per gallon!!! REGULAR...
It's all NY Taxes... we need more republicans up in Albany and more people willing to put up Wind Mills or something to make up the difference in revenue. It should not be taken out of driver's backs. PEOPLE WILL DRIVE!!!!! Regardless of gas prices, never enough people will break the backs of the Oil cartels to lower prices. They are the best crack dealers in the world. They know EXACTLY how much we tolerate and float it at that level forever... it will take hard work for gas prices to be controlled. People will simply give up other things but driving their cars is the last they will give up.
Or perhaps if we had the passenger rail system that Europe has, we would see less cross country driving.
From high above in the late evening glow I am watching the most magnificent of sights... a 737-200Adv. in the que behind Air India to go on 22 Right... Songbird 6401 to Havana.... What a beaut... From here I would be eye level with her as she climbs out of the 22's..... Too bad I dont have my SLR with me at work ever.
We all waited for her on the beach at HoBe but she never left while you guys had the 31s open :-( Nice someone got her leaving :-)
But, 4:33pm? Hmm, I could have sworn we were listening and never heard her check in or leave.
What about that Presidential 757? What was up with that little surprise?
That was a standard SAM flight... Nothing special about it... No name dignitaries on board. No special handing... No one special on board.
737-200 leaving.........as Manny stated we waited and waited........I can't believe we missed her departing. Oh well.......such is the life of spotting!!! Here is a shot of her on a short final to 31R.
http://mbsphotography.smugmug.com/Av...1_SSa4W-XL.jpg
Ah, but it did have a flashing light escort did it not? Nice looking 757 though, love that scheme. Hope the new VC-25s or whatever they'll be keep the same or similar c/s
They had one Port Suburban ahead of them on the escort to the que. Nothing special.
Morocco Air Force B737-800 just landed on 4R.
CN-MVI is the registration.
