Sorry I don't have any news on any visitors...I was hoping someone could chime in on what military aircraft will be attending the Kiwanis Kids Day today and if there will be any flybys. Thanks
-Brian
Kids day attendees: Sorry for short notice but unable to confirm what is their until now. For the first time ever ALL Military aircraft have cancelled. It was supposed to be 2 F-18's. 2 C-130's and the KC-135. All cancelled last min for multiple reasons. On the Civil side, AA MD80, DL/NW A-319 and US A-319 N742PS, and 3 Cessna's. Rwy 4-22 closed up and down 31. At least it is a nice sunny day and everything their is FREE !
C-GHPH just landed, probably looked a lot like this pic too:
talk about rare, this BN2P departed LGA around 11-ish headed for KGON:http://myaviation.net/?pid=01849915
Anyone have any word on runway closures for this weekend?
information is regularly released friday mornings. look for it to be posted early afternoons.
looks like there are no planned runway closures for this weekend, though that's always subject to change at the very last minute. seems to be no construction activity tonight.
Enjoyed Kid's Day w/o any military aircraft or any fly-by's. At least it wasn't canceled like the Coney Air Show. The Thunderbirds claim they don't know why that was canceled but that was already discussed. At least we got to see Trump's B-727 and the Colombian jet. If memory serves, didn't UAL used to have an aircraft on display? I still have their shopping bag somewhere in my house. What disappointed me was that there was no landing/departure of any choppers so my cap could get blown-away like last year. Most importantly, the hot dogs were more tasty than last years', and the shuttle buses were not crowded. Thanks to the NYNJ Port Authority for providing the free parking and all their planning; I always came by public transportation before, which took 3 hours from Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. The weather was great, too.
I spotted the "Smiling Jack" PSA aircraft yesterday while hiking around LGA yesterday. I was foolish to think that this aircraft, now used by US Airways, only appears at Kid's Day. Sadly, I never saw the new Jet Blue "NY Jets Green" aircraft. Any ideas how us spotters could find her? So far, I only caught the Philly Eagles aircraft at JFK.
USAF C-37A landed a few minutes ago.

VP-BPZ is here, not on trackers anymore so no real way of knowing wher she'll pop up next.</p>

first sighting of a 'UNITED' titled 738 at LGA today. also, first time i ever saw COA's Star Alliance 738 as well. oh, AAL 763 on an equipment sub too... and N777KK; a G-IV with a pretty cool scheme.

14 November
there are three, yes three, 727s when i left work at 2200 sunday night. VP-BDJ flew in from PBI and VP-BPZ popped in for a surprise visit as well. there was an all-white B727-200 parked by the new fire station as well. also, A6-KAH flew in, she's an Embraer Lineage belonging to the Al Habtoor Group. based on it's rarity i think this is the visitor of the month!
Man too bad that"
"
Oh the weather outside is frightful, "
and so on! Poor week for spotting. I got two of my to do list today by accident and in the worst conditions: Fog, Overcast, Backlit, Heat Glare, etc. etc.
yet another unique visitor popped in, VP-IAH is here... indian A319CJ. VP-BPZ is still here, as is A6-KAH.
Nice!! .. BTW, is it really VP-IAH or is it VT-IAH?
A Delta 757-300 just arrived from South Bend carrying the Notre Dame football team for their game vs. Army at Yankee Stadium tomorrow.
N754NA spent the night here in LGA... bet that's a first!
in addition to the NAA 757 now parked on 'E' there is also a mostly-white BBJ here at LGA. think it's N2TS:
Probably the higlight of the month. Columbian Govt 1st 767-200 and the 1st ever 767-200MMTT (Multi Mission Tanker Transport) landed on 31 around 1900L. Should be hereable on Live ATC. net operating as Foxtrot Alpha Charlie Zero Zero One Heavy, this is one unique 767. Can't get the links to work but reg is FAC1202, ex Air China.
Wow very nice... any idea when it may be headed out?
Departed LGA around 2120, that is one unique 762, has really bright LED lights on the back of the wingtips, no photos. sorry guys LGA777
