How can we get a B-2 to make an appearance here? I know it wasn't actually manufactured here, but it was designed by Grumman pre-Northrop, so I'm sure it was engineered here!

OK fine, I was wrong... happy? Now, how can we get one to do a flyby for us Long Islanders?
I am going to miss the A-10

Who wouldn't. She has such fine lines.
The warthog itself, or those who inspect it? :)

Just in case anyone missed it, History Under The Stars 2014 was announced.
Hey Fred,
I would LOVE to attend this, but have never taken a night image... :frown:
Would it help if I said I was a former volunteer at AAM (2004-2006)?
The Red Bull Airforce will be Jones Beach!
Is there any other military acts coming to Jones Beach? Maybe a last minute static display or something. Its awesome to have the Blue Angels back but , hoping for something more than just an Osprey
Considering the sequestration of all military demos last year and all the shows that were cancelled, I am thrilled to have the Blue Angels and an Osprey in our backyard.
As for statics the only thing you might see at a beach show is if the 106th brings in a Pave Hawk.
Just about a month to go!!!!!!!!
Last I heard we're go for a SAR Demo. Static pending availability.
Great news, Scott Yoak's AMAZING P-51 Mustang "Quick Silver" has just been added to the Jones Beach line-up according to Quick Silver's FB page
Just noticed that the Misty Blues removed Jones Beach from their line-up. We are still good with jumpers this year though as we still have the Golden Knights, Leap Frogs, and Red Bull Airforce.
You do know he is a member of the unit that would be providing those assets, right? And that they have participated in every JB show that I can remember? This isn't some guy who heard from his brother's girlfriends' cousin that there might be an F-35 at the show or something.
Plus they were mentioned in a recent press release.
Does the Red Bull Air Force include the helicopters or is it just the wing suit team?
What day do the Blue Angels come in? Will viewing still be available by the old 56th fighter group restaurant? (what are they doing with that place anyway)
Ken
Restaurant is closed and property closed off. They are trying to get a tenant in there but so far its empty shell sits there!! I gather whoever buys the property will demo the old building first. The parking lot is sometimes closed off with wooden barriers but hopefully they are moved for the air show to allow additional parking for people during the show who want to see the Angels up close by the Main Terminal.
Less than two weeks away!! WOO HOO!!!
Both Yankee Lady and Quicksilver are guests of the AAM and are not for the Jones Beach Airshow...whether they fly in the airshow is TBD.
Derf,
It usually depends on the weather & number of people buying flight tickets, right?
That is not the issue, Jones Beach may or may not pay for them to fly in the show.
