Great shots Moose!
Moose, I think we all felt the same way.. Who didn't go home and look at their shots! You just took it one step further by posting them online already!
I'll echo what Moose just said - It as great seeing everyone last night. And it was great to put some faces to some of the names.
Fred - again, THANK YOU!

Heres one of my first shots from the event last night.... I would like to thank Fred Miller and the American Airpower Museum for putting this together.... Moose, you must be on Red Bull because I was exhausted after the night and couldn't even look at my shots till this morning..... It was great meeting new faces and old faces too..... About time I saw Phil....
Haha, while I didn't edit when I got home, I did lay in bed, struggling to stay awake, flipping through my camera.
A BIG thanks to Fred and the AAM guys who made this happen. Aside from the photos, it was a great experience. I found myself putting down the camera often to stand back and watch the amazing aircraft, the history, and smell the burning oil!
I just hauled my gear in the house and went to sleep.. But did want to post one image before heading out for the day.. probably FRG at one point.
MK4, with 14mm fisheye.. Pocketwizard controlled flash to the left of the plane, ISO800 F@320 hand held

Thanks to Fred and the staff at AAM, it was a real nice night. Pleasure meeting the everyone.

WOW! What a night. Fred thank you and the museum staff for putting this together. I can't believe how fast the time went by. I have to admit I was both thrilled and nervous.
It was great meeting everybody and putting names to faces. What a wonderful group of gentlemen.
I have so many shots to go through from the week & weekend but here is ones I that I liked from last night.

Fred thanks again, it was a pleasure to finally meet you in person.
Great shot Fred! Glad we got to meet up again!
As I said earlier, this was an amazing experience. Of everyone there, I was certainly at the bottom in terms photo talent. My favorite plane of the night was the A10.
Here are some of mine...please critique! I'd like to learn how I can improve!

Great shots, Phil.
What immediately came to mind for the first and fourth picture in your series was to adjust the white balance. Sodium lamps' orange hue can really throw colors off.
I hope you don't mind me editing your photos, but I selectively adjusted the white balance in just the A-10 itself and set the white point in the teeth or eyes of the nose art. I missed the leading edge of the cockpit window.

Nice stuff guys.. Hopefully I will get to go thru the 5000 images (my wife was shooting too) from the event in few days.
Think I got some nice treetop shots of them coming back to FRG after the show. The departure was nice, first time I have been at the terminal when they left. # 2 needed a jumpstart :)
Not sure I would totally correct for the lights.. personal preference I guess.
Please shooting with you.

I am still going through the 3168 shots from the weekend. But, I wanted to put up some of mine from Saturday evening which aren't up already. Fred, a big thank you to you and the American Airpower Museum for making this night possible. The rain tried to stop it, but that only made the night more interesting.

Why do I always look angry in pictures people take of me? :)
Well, for starters.... you were carrying like 80lbs in glass... on top of that you have those sh!tty Canon straps that make your camera feel like 50 lbs without a lens and make your neck sore after 6min flat. Also you do not have a cool backwards cap like Phil, the sun was reflecting off of my awesome $180 dollar lens and I think you just dropped your bag on your foot.Quote:

LOL!! I'm actually getting a Black Rapid Double strap soon, which I heard will instantly transform me into a professional photographer, even with my shoddy skills. Not a bad investment for $130!Quote:

Well, if it's the OP/TECH that's giving you that big head, then maybe I should go with that one  Actually, it will probably be better for me, since the Black Rapid attaches to the tripod socket, which will be a bit annoying, since I use my tripod a lot (mainly because it makes me look more professional).Quote:

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know what I was trying for with the winners for History Under the Stars. I am trying to get a dusk / nightshoot together for the aircraft that will be at Farmingdale for the Coney Island Airshow! A-10 and Hornets and Harriers’ OH MY! If we can do that I also will try for other events in the upcoming year as well. No promises other than I will try.
Please do not forget the Deadline for all entry’s is this Friday -Fred

Sorry, one more that I just found. I'm a little shocked that I didn't notice this photo earlier, because it's one of my favorites from the shoot:

Congrats goes out to the winners.. I think we all got a kick to the pants on the last shot by Fred! We were ALL shooting that same plane while it was raining!
Again - Congratulations Fred and (Fred) and Cary!
Yes we were, but he did not have a cover on the canopy in his shot!Quote:

That lightning shot is nice Fred, but it could have used a rainbow and possibly some livestock in the foreground.Quote:

I thought I knew a lot about photography and planes but that night I learned so much more and got to do it with a great group of people.
Thanks again to Fred & the AAM for giving us the opportunity.

But I can not win anyway... and if I did win, who would give me Access....
On a side note....the plane pictured above crashed on its first flight a week ago. Should be airworthy again but it will take some time. (Republic Rainbow) rolled out of the hangar behind it. The high part of in the middle of the door was for tail clearance of this aircraft.
