Thanks for sharing these photos. I wish I could have got out there but I have no car and the last time I took a cab, they changed runways so I got stranded on Rockaway Blvd. I went out Sunday instead to Yankee Stadium where the public was supposed to be given a free tour. It turned-out that only ticket-holders for the last game were admitted. What a bummer. I got a great t-shirt though. Have any British VIP aircraft landed? No mention is made of any British flight. Did you guys know that Iran Air used to have a daily flight using a Boeing 747-SP from Tehran? It stopped flying to JFK about the same time that the Concordes started coming so I never saw one in person. The only SPs I remember here at JFK were RAM, South Africa, Saudia, UAL, TWA, PAA and AAL. My boss flew on an SP and kept raving about the service. Please be on the look-out for an IL-96, flight SDM 9005 which might come to JFK. Good spotting!

Was at JRB first but we closed it up for a movement. As I get on the FDR, the Chinook came in. Then went to 6N5 in time to catch the POTUS come around to go down the FDR then to JRA which was busy. Yes, they are just inside the gate.

If the aircraft parks at Terminal B, do the VIPs go through the terminal or right out onto the tarmac and into transport cars?
From what I've seen at EWR and JFK last weekend, visitors arriving on scheduled flights go through the terminal on the departures level where limos and PAPD/Secret Service etc are waiting.Quote:

I've seen a little of both, some went through the terminals(when I flew in Sat night the Burkina Faso gov't was in the Diplomatic Visa line that was set up in the terminal with the rest of customs, but then today I think they cleared on the plane. They sat on the plane for a good 10 mins or so before exiting the jetway stairs to some waiting limos. My exif data says 2:51pm for the arrival and it was on the 4's so it was very possible you saw them.Quote:

I'm very surprised that we don't see the A340-200 utilized much from the French Air Force. Apparently Sarkozy likes to fly commercially any chance he can get. His entourage follow in the A319 or Falcon normally.

@ Iberia A340-600 : The two A340s are equipped with normal pax seats and are regulary used out of CDG for "regular" pax flights for the military. Similar to the "Reach" missions the US Airlines fly for the US Military.
