Aw, boo. He wouldn't have appreciated it anyway.
Though he BETTER appreciate the MaxJet flight I booked for him today! ;)
here is the current ATIS for LGA:
O 1751Z 270/10 10 FEW 15000, BKN 25000
37/17 2992 ILS22 app in use, land 22 dep 31.
LGA class B services.....
yea, that's 37 degrees....
That's 98 degress farenheit for those who actually live within the United States of America.Quote:

sorry all, forgot to translate the atis since i speak airplane. ;)
today was an intereting day. aside from the 90+ degree heat we had two very nice aircraft subsitutions.
AC brought in a 767-300 to accomodate all the pax that were left stranded from last night. C-GGFY operated flt 706 to YOW.
TZ had a mx problem on one of thier 733s and sent N518AT to operated flt 4227 to MDW. when i left work, the flt was still showing as operating on a 733 in saber.
for you three-holer fans, N727EC is still sitting at 5 towers, but the rear ramp is down meaning they might be leaving soon. there was ground power hooked up to the airplane, but no engine was running as yet. aircraft is scheduled to depart at 1300 but was still on the ramp at 1400.
N518AT is a 757 Matt? I think I saw her in Vegas last week.
727EC great plane the throtles on it are gold plated or somthing i doubt solid gold but they were at Dolphin Aviation in Sarasota one day while I was prepping to fly and I got a tour, just my little tidbit on that bird. Gorgeous interrior. I will try to dig my pix of her up if anyone wants to see.
What type usually operates this flight?Quote:

gotham, AC 704/706 is a A319 normally.
while sweating away about 10 lb today on the ramp, and between training sessions with my agents where i proved you can fry an egg on the ramp, i managed to notice the following interesting movements:
at about 0710, N974AN (the first AA 738 with winglets) taxiied past my ramp for take off on 31. at 0745, N586NK (white spirit A321) did the same. N625CA (comair's 150th rj) fought his way to the departure line on B and Maround 1020, in the midst of a very heave traffic jam. finally, N516UA hasn't moved form it's position on the hangarline for the 3rd day now. mechanics came out and fiddled with it for a few hours, but i guess they got tired of the heat to and retreated to the wonderful world of conditioned air.
oh, about the egg... if you take a 4' x 4' of inch-thick steel and leave it baking in the sun all day then yes, you will be able to fry an egg on it in only about 2 minutes. was good for me, i made about $50 from the naysayers...

About 1530LCL a white 727 with a blue tail and winglets (and what appeared to be no logo, or any airline name) landed on 22 (maybe Champion Air?). It was awesome watching her come in. I was on a DL757 that had just landed. I think a US A320 or 319 had just landed in front of the 727, and the 727 was doing some sweet S-turns behind it to allow for spacing. What a great sight!
That was N31TR, a former frequent LGA visitor that has an been an infrequent visitor the last few years. This Boeing got winglets back when they where rare, and despite the number 1 and 3 engines being JT8D-217's (MD80 engines) with the 100 degree temp she made a very long and heavy departure off 31 about 1620L.

Yea that's the plane... What was it doing at LGA? Charter? Cargo?
If it is the 200 I am thinking of it is actually a privately held 727 I think. It was for sale with a broker down here forever.
I wish we (Champion) had the Valsan 727s, with MD-80 engines in the pods, and a -17r in the tail, they would make the LAS departures during the high summer a much less runway consuming, ground loving, high adrenaline event. I hope to snag one of our charters into LGA someday, not as nostalgic for me as JFK, but it would complete the trifecta!
HOLY COW. since phil said i hadn't psted here since august i figured might as well do it now. AA actually brought a PW-powered 752 in today, i missed the reg since i saw it as it was rotating off of 31.
N727EC arrived yesterday from PBI, departed today at 1411 back to PBI. all in all, a avery interesting day for GA traffic here.

Ill have to double check but I'm pretty sure that theres a few Pratt 757's in the fall/winter sched right now...Quote:

AA brought the retrojet and one winglet-equipped 738, DL had it's pink (former) song in today and CO departed a 752 to EWR as i was walking out at the end of the night:
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/COA1933
that must be a flt number they use for ferries, if you look down the list the flt operate from EWR to WRi on 772 only a few nights ago, with another such flight from HOP to EWR also on a 772. does CO do military charters? when the US activates the civil reserve air fleet what flight numbers and callsigns do those flights use? are they the carrier's callsigns or is it somethign else?
the wri flight was a ferry, they came back a few hours later and then continued on to kwi. the 1900-1940 is charters i believe. they use the callsign "Reach xxxx" when they depart, which is military aircraft command
The CO 752 was inbound CO 1908 from DTW, dropping off the Yankees then ferry over to EWR for Sunday's flying !

the only noteworthy departure today was N367G, and unfortunately we aren't able to track that aircraft.

Okay it's been a month since this thread was updated so here is today's update. HISS SRQ was visiting me today at work and we both spotted this very rare visitor on final !
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5668014
And the tail was displaying the SEA Seahawks logo, It departed about an hour later on 13 very, very light, the gear was all tucked away when he passed our tower.
Also for the third night this week AC sent down a 767 due to delays at LGA. Never got a reg but the last two where NC and Sunday night was old.

FYI there should be a Miami Air charter in to LGA next Tuesday, around noon from KCOS or KDEN to KLGA. Arrival time is scheduled to be 1235PM, but on flights from here to the East Coast, the trend is generally to arrive early due to the West-East flow of the Jetstream...
two heavy movements to announce:
AC 763 departed at 2125 as AC727 Heavy to YYZ.
DL 763 arrived at 2210 as DL1260 Heavy from ATL.
Thursday's 767 was C-FBEG
Senga
For Sunday 11-19-06 N610DL the Pink DL 757 arrived around 1400, left around 1500 and arrived again around 2100. The Allegheny A-319 N745VJ also made two appearances and is on the Shuttle for the next few days.

Tuesday Nov 21st as I arrived at in the employee parking lot my favorite BBJ, N888TY had just arrived so I parked near it and waked over to the fence for a look. First time since her repaint and re-reg I have seen her with the airstairs down and was impressed to see they are painted Burgundy to match the fuselage, most impressive. Moments later a winglit equipped Miami Air 738 arrived on the ramp and parked next to Trump, I was later told 5 or 6 buses where seen next to it so I am guessing a band or something for the Macy's parade. The Miami Air departed later but Triple Eight Tango Yankee remainded.
Cheers

Triple 8 remains as of today. Any idea what that fairing houses on the top of the tail? It makes it look wicked cool
Wednesday Nov 22nd is traditionally one of the busiest travel days of the year but it was also a pretty good day for large corporate traffic.
737-200 N370BC (which I have never seen at LGA before)
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5838864
arrived from her Addison, Texas base and departed a few hours later for PBI,
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N370BC
but the dark, dreary day made photography out of the question for me.
Ironically VP-BDJ departed about an hour or so later, also for PBI
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/VPBDJ
Another regular visitor arrived around 1400, 727-212 N31TR
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5807812.
Briefly the three above aircraft plus BBJ N888TY (which arrived Tues ) occupied the 5 Towers ramp simultaneously, way cool I think !
Cheers

I missed that all today save for triple 8 and Victor Papa. Sorry I missed ya at work today by the way I was exhausted. Speaking of special visitors does anyone else know of an American 738W that has a special sticker on the fuse. just ahead of thr American titles?

It was a Miami Air from KCOS I'm pretty sure (if not KCOS then KDEN) carrying the US Air Force Academy band, chorale, honor guard and some other group.... They are all marching in the parade and doing some other stuff while here.
The charter leaves again Monday morning sometime....
Today I saw:
- Air Canada Jazz CrJ-900
- Air Canada JAzz CRJ-200 with Star Alliance
- Boeing Business Jet N888TY! Saw it rocket off of rwy 4 at sunset.
Here's a photo of it that Ron got a wihle back. Very few BBJs look this good.

888TY was a great sight to see today, caught as i was moving about the tower. also saw a new colors UA CRJ-700... that's about it for me though. DL did have a charter flight come in, 2 buses left the terminal around 2130 headed for the guard post.
Wow, I'd have loved to see the UA CRJ7 in new colors!
What kinda charter you think it was?
Phil it went right past us when we were eating. I saw it but didn't think much of it, didn't click, now it does.Quote:
