That's is by far one of the worst arguments I've seen, as I can say at least the AL has a DH who can drive the ball out and is a constant threat, ex. Ortiz. Let's face it baseball is a pitcher's game. I rather get my money's worth and see a duel and a great game of offense, rather than getting a pitcher booted just because there is a pinch hitter to take his spot to score more runs.
Philly just tied Mets for first.
Re: Hey Met fans, you have gone silent all of a sudden!
Well, if Willie wasn't playing American League Ball in the National League and could actually execute intelligent double switches, The Mets might stand a chance.
Oh wait, I forgot.. This all "feels very normal" to Willie.. presiding over what has the makings for the biggest choke of all time.

Indeed. All tied and San Diego is trying to hold on to take the lead in the wild card. Pressure is just building.

To clarify, this might be the biggest regular season choke of all time. The biggest choke in the history of professional sports title goes to the 2004 Yankees. :borat:

San Diego already leads the wild card. The Mets and Phillies will be tied with Colorado, assuming Colorado doesn't blow their lead. The Wild Card is going west. Unless both San Diego and Colorado choke this weekend, which isn't going to happen.
Re: Hey Met fans, you have gone silent all of a sudden!
There's still hope...just need to pray the Nationals start winning some ball games...
Re: Hey Met fans, you have gone silent all of a sudden!
We're HISTORY and all for the wrong reasons! I'm glad I went to the Genesis concert last night and didn't have to suffer through the game.
Nite Nite Mets, I'm never-Ever buying Season Tickets again.

Now that is a scary thought to pray for. Ok 3 games. Let's see what the Mets are made of.

Re: Hey Met fans, you have gone silent all of a sudden!
I can't begin to try to understand what I watched tonight. Beaning the batter not once but twice with the bases loaded? Then after getting a force at home and having a force at third to try to tag the baserunner instead of throwing to the bag? Then blowing the play? Wtf are the Met's playing? Sandlot? I'm sorry but for a team with their backs against the wall the effort was terrible and lacked passion.
Re: Hey Met fans, you have gone silent all of a sudden!
The Mets have packed it in. Thank god it's Hockey Season!
Re: Hey Met fans, you have gone silent all of a sudden!
Mets played their best game of the year today. Still, the Phillies have to lose no matter what the Mets do.
