I'll be down at Field 4 today. (Getting there around 1:30 most likely.) Come say hello if you spot me. (Average height brunette woman with two cameras running around with excitement.)
PS: Can I get in trouble for bringing a video camera?
10:32A Blue # 7 is up and over Copiague heading South

What are we thinking on the weather for tomorrow, the Guy on 880 says 20% chance of showers and tstorms, everyone else says 50%
I'm going to work on getting the full flying schedule!
I am not sure .. I think I will check the forecast tonight, and maybe tomorrow AM. If there is a chance of T-storm I think I will stay away. Sunday is looking real nice.Quote:

The Blues were amazing at the beach! I will post pictures later. Just wanted to let everyone know I am heading to the 56 for happy hour, rumor was there may be some Angels there. I will be wearing a white tank top and skirt. Come and say hi if you decide to come!
Either a USN or USMC F-18 just came to FRG
Must be nice having the "legs" the skirt, LOL! Enjoy.Quote:

The practice show at the beach today wasn't impressive. The Blues were very good though. I was at the airport when the 2 Hornets arrived.
2 F-18s came in from the south almost 5PM. They were given option of 1-9 or 1-4 but chose 1-4. Cool for me as I wasQuote:

They came in and did a fly-by first with a break to the left. When they came in the second time the first F-18 did a
go-around and the 2nd landed. At the same time I believe it was the CF-18 coming in. He was given 1-9 but had
to wait until the Hornet came around then he landed 1-9 and the F-18 1-4!! Got all that? LOL!!
Was there until 6:20 and never saw the C-17 or the Prowler.
Thanks Gerard!
I just left the terminal to get food and I saw an F-18 fly over.
I'm sorry about the C-17 and prowler I dont know what happened to them.
Also, does anyone know if Julie Clark arrived?
Great practice today.. the sky sucked.. but I made the best of it.
Good seeing you again Fred!

#5 hair on fire, coming in hot!! I haven't seen them do the high speed pass this low at Jones Beach before..
Looking forward to tomorrow.. hopefully the weather holds out.
Thanks for looking!

I have to agree. Long times with no action. I even was able to finish a book I had brought with me.
The CF-18 was alright as was the A-10. Nothing special.
Enjoyed a number of the aerobatic guys and girls!!
BUT.....the FRIGGIN ANGELS ROCKED!!!!! :D :D
Fat Albert started the performance with a number of fly-bys and turns. Very cool.
Then the main performers came in from the ocean side!!
Wow they were so good. Maybe it was me but it seemed at times they flew lower and closer than I had seen before!!
And the one jet blasting along on the deck while a second roared over our heads top speed from the rear
proved that my heart is in pretty good shape!! :)
And another time I watched as one of the solo performers came in low from the west. But as they got closer I
realized it was actually BOTH the soloists. They were so close it looked like one jet!!
It was a wonderful performance and worth sitting there for 4 hours until they came on.
What was wrong about it? Was it not up to par with the airshows from previous years?Quote:

I saw the show earlier - the Blues Rocked - amazing pictures from all of you folks (My pics came out awful)- I thought all of the acts were very good (though I didnt get down till somewhere after 1130). I love the A-10!.
My Daughter and I went down to republic afterwards - what time does the meet and greet run till? (we were down by the main republic terminal and didnt see anyone)
The 2 f-18 that came in looked like they were from vfa -125 (Rough raiders).... are they doing any kind of a demo?
KEn
The meet and greet only lasts until 15 mins after they get out of their jets.
Well I went to the practice last year, and it was great. The Super Hornet flew twice and everything flew. Today was different. A few of the planes didn't fly, and it was pretty much a low show so that's the main reason why it wasn't super great. Like I said, the Blues were the highlight.Quote:

I wanted to catch the F-18s (DID!!) and they were due at 5 (ON TIME) so I wasnt too crazed!!!

[quote="gettysburgerrn"]I saw the show earlier - the Blues Rocked - amazing pictures from all of you folks (My pics came out awful)-
I originally hung out at Field 6 area but decided I wanted to be much closer when the Blues came on (GOOD CALL).
Threw my chair and backpack in my truck and with camera and binocs cruised down to the shoreline a little east of
the Water Tower. So there I am with my Canon Powershot trying to pick out the aircraft in the screen and all these
guys around me with bazooka lenses!!!
I just shot and shot and looked later to see what came out good. Used the video option a lot also.
Cant compete with the great photogs on this site (not trying) but very happy with what came out and that is all
that matters. Its lots of fun just to shoot and shoot then when you look later you see what came out find
some cool stuff. I'm putting up a Facebook photo album for the weekend.
Thought I might run into NYCA members while walking the boardwalk and maybe I walked past some since except for
John (Moose) I havent had the pleasure.
Interesting that despite the $8 cover I thought it was much more crowded when it was free!!
