Hey...just woke up and there is this weird yellow ball in the sky. Gives off a lot of light. Should I run outside and take pictures of it?

If you come down the Meadowbrook by pass the toll booths and take Ocean Pkwy to the west bathhouse and by your parking ticket at the small ticket booth on the left. There is no line and you will save a lot of time.

Blues used 14. Snowbirds only jets that used 19 today.
Back from the air show. Amazing weather, warm and the skies were clear all day until after the airshow when thunderstorms started to roll in. I took a bunch of pictures and videos I will try to get up later or tomorrow. Were the snow birds missing a jet? There seemed to be a hole in most of their formations.
For whatever reason #2 did not fly. They still had #10 & #11, so not sure why they went one short.

That was one of the best shows ive seen at jones beach ,i may even go tomorrow and brave the crowds lol

Got to FRG a little before 1Pm (left an AMAZING helo visit at Eisenhower) and caught the Snowbirds arriving on 19. Tower asked if they wanted to do a flyby but the lead pilot said no because they were
low on fuel. So for the Blue Angels departure I tried something new. Using my GPS map in my car I figured on a location on Rt 109 by Wellwood Ave that would give me a nice view of the BA departure.
Boy was I on the money. I parked in the lot of Sprung Memorials just west of Wellwood on the EB side and waited. They came right over my head FAST AND LOUD!! The flight of 4 then the 2!! Wow that was very cool!!! Back to the movie lot by 14 to see their arrival. They did a flyby coming from the south then broke off and landed 32. Kinda disappointed people waiting for them to land 14.
Around 4PM I saw them tugging BA 6 over to the treeline just east of Runway 1. There they did some engine runups for 15 minutes or so before bringing the ship back to the flightline.
Funny scene by the flight line as a large number of the crew members stood in a group by BA 1 and Rescue 3 came out and doused them all with water from the roof cannon!! They were pretty soaked as other crew members cheered them on. Looked like BA guys were driving Rescue 3.
Hope tomorrow at the beach is as good as today and thanks for the heads up on the traffic!!!
Awesome day at the beach (minus the people who think it's a great idea to set up umbrellas at an airshow, really people?) had an awesome spot till it got blocked... traffic was terrible, sat by my car until the lot cleared out around 4:30.

BTW, my favorite pass of the day was definitely the Super Hornet's AWESOME "SNOW CONE" PASS !!! LOL That had to be the MOST VAPOR I have ever seen on one pass from start to finish EVER !!! Ha !! :cool:

Can you guys comment on some of your settings on your cameras and especially locations at Republic Airport! Outstanding photographs gentlemen! Here are a few of mine.
My camera is a Canon 5D Mii handeld with a 1.2 tele and a 70-200mm lens. I had it mostly on shutter priority about 1250 iso 400.
From past years i always left the show early but this was the first year going to Republic Airport and it was so cool to see the pilots of the Blue Angels.
