Blue Angels came in at 930am. I think one had an instrument problem. Walked back to my car to grab a drink and missed Fat Albert.

The team needed some time with the arresting cable, plus a private jet couldn't wait.... (listening to the tower)
I saw them land then had to rush off for another non-plane shoot....
And some kid rear ends me getting on the the SSP at 109 !!! Good thing I was in the Rover and he hit the bumper.
So we have at least 2 hits (maybe it's me).... be careful !

Sitting on New Highway and a van drove off the highway and just missed the car in front of me. The tower just advised all aircraft that numerous air show related flights are going up shortly
WOW... seriously... who has jurisdiction over there? I think we need to keep a few NCPD or NYSP over there just for safety's sake! I normally don't recommend law enforcement in spotting locations but this is just getting out of hand...

They Are Up & Out Again. Angels Just went out over to the East of my Office in Copiague Heading Toward the Beach. Only saw four at that time in Formation.
Practice show. There is one today
Last year the SCPD was there just to make sure everything was safe. They should do that again this year. This is madness.
Yea I do believe they were thereQuote:

A-10's just flew over my building on 110 looks like everything is landing from the north today
Blues used 14, and the A-10's used 19
buzzin my office here on wellwood
How many a-10s will be in the show??
One... the other is a spare.
seems like a pretty weak afterburner line up, lets hope for a couple extra fly bys
I was stationed in the parking lot of the movie theater when the Blues came in this morning. I noticed an SCPD car on the other side of the lot. I was there from 8:45 until they landed, and the car did not move from it's spot. I was surprised when they came in late - very unusual for the military to not arrive on time, even if there was a problem enroute. Didn't help that I was supposed to be at my office at that same time. Now I gotta make up all the time missed!
To make things worse, the photos I took came out terrible. Most of them were out of focus. I was using a telephoto lens and I could not focus the lens fast enough to catch them in time. Memo to self: practice shooting fast-moving objects ahead of time.
Oh well, at least I was in a good place to see them land as I guessed the right runway for the approach. I was afraid they'd come in on 32 since a handful of departures were using 1. Got lucky with that.
Here's my gallery (bad shots included):

GREAT Pictures Moose!!!
Crap... the CF-18 spare is a single-seater. I was banking on a two-seater so I could see if my jet was still out there...
Anyone have a time for the CF-18 to launch for it's practice show tomorrow?
Does he use 14/32 as a rule?
Thanks
Pete
Quick Question i know some years the blue angles don't practice on friday. Will they be tomorrow? Thanks
Yes they will. From 2PM-3PMQuote:

I honestly don't think a police presence would help. It is just careless drivers who are trying to see what's going on a veer off the road. The weekend should be "Kaos"Quote:

And yes that was me weight testing the roof of my Jeep on New Highway yesterday for the CF-18's arrival.
By the way is there a schedule of when each of the performers go? I know the Blue angels go at like 2pm but what about everyone else?
Ken

and a really short video
Having card reader problems but for anyone at the beach this afternoon I would liketo buy Blue ANgel # 5 a drink after that incredible high speed pass right on the deck, if he does it again the same way you won't be disappointed.
I see somebody snuck down to the beach - I almost did that myself, but I ended up talking with the A-10 pilots, and the next thing I knew, the Blues departed.
Can anybody give me a run down of what happened today and who arrived? I wasn't able to make it and I'd like to update the thread.
It seems like I might be able to make it to the USMC demo on Saturday. Does anyone know where to stay and watch it?
