KCMH - 01/04/2014

First day out this year.

We got quite a bit of snow on Thursday, the windchill yesterday morning was miserable (down to -15ish where I work), and today was passable. Tracking flights was a pain because Flightaware has a lot of clutter from 2 days of cancelled and delayed flights, and ops to/from ORD haven't normalized yet. And the Commutair Dash 8 from CLE was like 3 hours late so I didn't stay for that. Quite a bit of Netjets, And a lot of the Delta Connection planes were probably parked here, since I saw at least one with the only cockpit occupant wearing reflective clothing, and none of those planes seemed to have landed on either runway. Republic Airways has a maintenance facility here and they probably get cheap parking (I've seen as many as 5 CHQ ERJs parked by the terminal, plus whatever they had flying that day).

The CRJs were a bit of an experiment, since I coupled the 1.4x extender to the 100-400, but I loved the end result.
