Great article
Gone now though
I did read about a month or 2 ago.
I don't know, if I would take such flights - 19 hrs. Longest flights I had, was 9.5hrs - direct flight Moscow(VVO) - Vladivostok(VKO) on Aeroflot IL62 back in late 80's.
Also, I had 9 hrs direct flights - JFK-HEL, 8 hrs - JFK-FRA...It's pretty long travel to me now.
My boss flies 14hrs - JFK-NRT.
I said: Direct Flight. There's no such thing: Nonstop Flight. Airplane does ALWAYS STOP - at the airport of destination...
I flew Cathay JFK- HKG which was around 16hr honestly it wasn't that bad
No, in common usage, a Direct Flight is one that travels between two airports with stops along the way, but without the need to change planes. A Non-Stop Flight is one that flies between your origin and destination without any intermediary stops. ABC Airlines Flight 123 that goes from JFK-ORD-LAS-LAX would be a Direct flight for someone traveling between New York and Los Angeles, as you stay on the same airplane and the same seat. ABC Airlines Flight 456 from JFK-LAX would be a Non-Stop flight between those two cities.
I've done JFK- TLV 6 times over the years, so this was only 5 hours longer, then I also continued onto SGN from HKG
