Jumpseating is a very big deal. It seems to me, the process in place for cockpit jumpseating held up well, but the guy was only caught because he flipped out about it. What an idiot.
Jumpseating requires a heavy amount of respect and etiquette. It is a major privilege, no matter who you are or what company you work for.
