JFK 2/28/13
One plane only. I was just hanging in the Panera lot before I had to go photograph a basketball game and Jason tweets me that ETIHAD F1 was third to land. Weather was poor but who wouldn't pass up a chance to photograph F1

Great shot there! I will be going here in late march to spot a bit before taking off from Copa Airlines to Panama. Is the security nice here? I was reading other stuff about this area and it seems that the police does not like spotters here.

Eric, as if Steve needs any more reason to hate us  I need to refresh my collection since it now wears 2013 stickers...

NCPD is gonna pass around every now and then where Eric got that shot from but its not as bad as EWR. Most of the NCPD that checks up around r a bit familiar the spotting there and most of the time they r pretty much understandable. They dont usually give us a hard time that much. They r more friendlier then wat u dealt with. As long as u have ID u will be fine. When they talk to u, keep positive with wat u doing. When they check your ID, most of the times they let us continue our business. Eric great catch btw. Hope to catch this one soon

Thanks for the reply Delta. I hope everything works out when I head out there, I wanna practice getting some good shots at an easy airport too :/
-
Well like we all said, u can have easy practice at PHL. and im pretty much a frequent LGA spotter too. If u ever wanna shoot at LGA let me know and I can come along. otherise we can still hit up JFK as well so u can get sum good stuff
-
Thanks =D I will also try out PHL in the national park in Jersey :D

Never had any sort of issue at Panera. Heck, the manage is a friend of ours!

Cathay, Panera is one of our regular JFK spots. NCPD will occasionally check IDs, usually only if someone reports "suspicious" behavior. I've never been asked to leave, and one afternoon, I even had an NCPD Sgt. sitting in his patrol car next to me filling out reports. It's a *much* better place than EWR!
Nice work in some lousy conditions, Eric!

Heheh! It definitely sounds like it is. In late March I will be heading over there for about 2-3 hours spotting before my flight leaves :) 100% sure its gonna be 100000 times better than EWR

Nice shot Eric, love the vignetting and the dark sky with that c/s
